Lawrence looked at the beautiful sky peacefully as he waited for his loved one. He knew that his love would be coming soon so he waited. It was weird knowing that he would not be alone anymore after all these years.
The older des fantômes did not bother making any friends, but the young ones are always so happy and energetic that they had made friends with pretty much everyone.
Except Lawrence.
Lawrence didn't really like talking to people. When he does, he stutters and feels like he's annoying the person he is talking to. Even when he's dead, he's still the same. That's why he's never had any friends, alive or dead.
The only friend he's ever had was his best friend and lover, Darrell.
Darrell was the talkative one between them. Yes, Lawrence knows it's the stereotypical "Loud dumbass and quiet loner" but who cares?
Lawrence and Darrell had both met each other when they were in 7th grade, I won't get into the details since this it would be too long but all I can tell you is that ever since then, they have been inseparable.
Until the unfortunate incident where Lawrence had gotten into a car crash.
Lawrence was going to pick up Darrell from work but he got hit by a truck. He had forgotten all about that now. He was going to see Darrell again after many years of waiting.
Lawrence heard shouting and running as he sat up. From afar, he saw two young children, probably in their teenage years, running away with a group of men chasing them. If this was the real world, Lawrence would go and help whoever needed it. But here in La Vie Aprés La Mort, he didn't bother standing up and was about to lay back down.
Suddenly, a light started glowing nearby. Lawrence's excitement grew and grew as he walked towards the portal. He saw a foot step in. An old man who seemed to be 100 years old. Lawrence felt sad when he remembered that Darell had grown old without him for so long. But that didn't matter anymore.
"My love, you're finally here..." It was awful of Lawrence to be happy that his love had died. But Lawrence didn't care. They were reunited after so many years.
Darell looked at Lawrence with a kind yet confused smile on his face.
"Who are you?"
