Introduction

Have you ever known an event in history that resulted in mass disaster? Has an event you knew had someone that tried to take control of a fort, but failed and nearly got arrested? Have you learned about a place in history that had tensions so large that two places needed to go to war and result in massive land loss? The French and Indian war is an event that has all these points. The French and Indian war was a war that was an effective war that had a lot of casualties and losses. Having another country rule your country is hard to manage and can have malicious results.

The Cause of The French and Indian War

The British residence and the French both had their own territory inside North America, but the British did not really enjoy having to share territory with the French. Thus, they sent George Washington to the French military leader and went back with terrible news. The French would not leave without a fight, resulting in a call for war. For the war, both sides of the battle created forts for reinforcement. Forts are buildings that house militia members, have appliances used regularly, and have hospitals in case an army member gets significantly injured.

Highlights in the Battle

Even though the French and Indian war just was repetitive battle and conquer, it had a lot of highlights! For example, one highlight was the Battle of Quebec. It was the greatest victory for the British in the French and Indian war. This is because Quebec was the capital of the French territory in the North American lands. This forced them to move their most important city, and give up one of their most important lands. Another important highlight was the Treaty of Paris. The treaty, signed by both sides made the French give up visually all its land. Therefore, the British took over all of Canada and the French land.

Aftermath

The aftermath of the war had had many results, both good and bad. One good result was that now, the British had a ton of land, and was slowly making profit from its land. All the French land was now ruled by Britain, because the French and the British signed the Treaty of Paris. Even though it seemed that the British's army reputation, the war had many effects on the British economy. One effect that the war had on the British were that the war used up a lot of money, and led the British economy deep in debt. This led to the American Revolution, which we know well.

Important Figures

There were influential figures in the war, such as political leader William Pitt. William Pitt was a major figure in the war. It is because he increased British support in the war, expanded the conflict to Europe and even India! He was particularly important and was the key for the British victory.

Another figure that is important is George Washington. Many of you know him as the first American President, but he played a huge role in this war. The governor of Virginia asked him to go to the French militia leader to deliver a letter, starting the war.

One final figure is an Indigenous people's group called the Haudenosaunee, better known as the Iroquois Confederacy. It was a 6-tribe alliance to the west. It was in support of the British, fighting along them in the French and Indian War. The 6 tribes consisted of Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Tuscarora.

Conclusion

The French and Indian war was a devastating part of history that impacted and redirected many civilization's lives forever. The French and Indian war had many distinguished figures, highlights, an interesting cause, and a devastating aftermath. This war was also especially important, causing the American Revolution that would be later led by George Washington himself.
