Chaeyoung's POV

Flashback

I was just a normal person back then. I just graduated from highschool and decided to celebrate alone in a coffee shop since ny parents didn't even bothered coming to my graduation or even with me.

As soon as I entered the shop, the strong and sweet smell of coffee welcomed my sense of smell. I decided to take a seat next to the window so I could stare at something beautiful while taking a sip from my cup.

I decided to go along with my imagination and sat next to the window to admire the beautiful view. I then called the waitress so I could get my order.

"Good day, ma'am! What kind of coffee would you like?"

She's much taller than me, like any other people do, her hair is black and long and she's wearing those usual coffee shop waitress uniform. She looks so mature, I wonder what her age is.

"Ma'am?" I realized that I just dozed off while staring at her. I quickly regained my composure and stated my order.

"Americano please."

"Hot or cold?"

"Make it hot. The weather's kind of cold these days."

"You said it, ma'am. I feel like I would've froze outside if it wasn't for my fur coat." She acted like she was freezing by shaking slightly and rubbing up and down her hands on her arms while saying "brr".

I smiled at this. I think it's kind of... cute.

"O-Oh, I'm so sorry! I got distracted by talking to another customer again." She bowed as an apology which kind of surprised me.

"Don't worry, it's fine. You're kind of fun to talk to." I honestly stated. She then stopped bowing and stood up straight.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course. It wasn't a big deal, I could wait."

"T-Thank you. I'll go get your order now." She bowed one more time before approaching the counter. Probably saying what my order is.

I said I would look out the window to admire the view but I think I found something more beautiful than the one outside.

---

I wondered if making a coffee takes this long? I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes.

Just as I said this in my head, the waitress earlier came back with a tray in her hand. She then placed a hot cup of americano on my table just as I ordered. But then, she placed a plate of strawberry shortcake, too.

"Uh miss, I only ordered the coffee." I protested.

"Oh, take it please. It's my treat for being so talkative earlier. And as a thank you for forgiving me." She said while smiling.

"But you didn't have to do this-"

She cutted off my sentence by leaning closer to my ear and whispering. "A lot of our customers I handle isn't as kind as you. This is the first time someone ever forgave me as I became a reason why their orders got delayed. So please, take it and don't pay for it."
