'Please pass me my bowl.' Nana Kwesi a boy on my table yelled to nobody in particular.
I rolled my eyes and passed the bowl since I was sat close to it.
'Thank you'.
I nodded and looked away.
I turned my attention to the very weird looking jollof rice. You'd think one would get used to the food after a week. Part of it looked pink, another part looked orange and I couldn't quite tell the colour of the chicken. It looked more grey than brown.
I made a face at Nancy which caused her to snort bringing the whole dinning hall's attention to our table. I pretended to eat my food while Nancy embarrassingly apologised. Nancy was one of my dorm mates. Everyone liked her because she laughed a lot. She was always breaking tension because she managed to find small stupid and funny jokes out of the most gruesome things.
'Grace?' I heard Sean whisper my name. Sean was also one of my friends. We'd met at the dining table and we'd grown quite close.
'Mm' I turned to look at him.
'C'mon don't do that. Help your friend out before she gets into major trouble' I hated it but Sean was right. I could already see the dining hall prefect looking our way. Probably deciding if coming to our table was worth the walk.
'Guys I'm sorry.it's my fault I tickled her that's why. She couldn't help it.' I explained and apologised I received a few death glares but the murmuring died down and eventually everyone went about their business. 'Phewww' I let out my breath I didn't even know I was holding in and dug into my Also tasteless jollof.

'Please be quiet and listen to this announcement!' The hall went quiet.
'Mrs. Johnson would like to speak to us right after dining please do not leave. The boys especially.' The dining prefect announced followed by a collective 'awwww.' From the boys.
'Good day ladies and gentlemen.' Mrs. Johnson greeted met by a cheerful reply from the students. ' I wouldn't like to waste your time so let's make this quick.' She explained. 'Prior to the very unfortunate incident. The school has been asked to temporarily close down. Your parents and guardians have been made aware and will pick you up tomorrow. If I were you I'd have started packing.' She ended and smiled.
