Luke Hemmings and Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer. Two completely normal boys, right? Well I guess it all depends on your definition of normal. Luke was the lead singer of the band, and seemed to get all of the girls. They were throwing themselves at him constantly, and he loved it. Ashton on the other hand was simply the dummer. Hardly any attention from the fans, and when he did get attention it wasn't always positive attention like he was looking for.

Watching Luke come home every night with a different girl just made the pain worse. After spending the day reading hate comments from the people who called themselves 'fans' of 5SOS, he had to listen to Luke and some stupid groupie have sex in the bunk next to him. Instead of being disgusted by the fact that his best mate was banging a girl not even a foot away, with barely a wall in between them and joking around about it later, this broke Ashton's heart.

Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer was gay. He had known since he was four years old and he started feeling attraction to boys, but he never quite understood what he was feeling until he was about eleven. Until then, he just thought he was some sort of freak. A genetic mishap, pretty much. But he wasn't anything of that nature, he was just as normal as any other boy or girl his age.

When Ashton looked at his best friend all he could feel was heartbreak. He wanted to be with Luke. He wanted to be the person he brought into his bunk or his hotel room every night after shows, but he wasn't. Luke liked girls. Ashton knew that. He knew that the way he felt about his best friend was completely stupid, considering the circumstances. Luke liked girls, and that was that. As far as Ashton knew, he would never even consider him.

And Luke having never felt any sort of attraction to a boy in his entire eighteen years, still couldn't quite place the feeling in the pit of his stomach when he looked at his best friend. Frankly, Luke didn't want to understand. What if the feeling was something bad. He liked life how it was now, why would he let some stupid unknown feeling about Ashton ruin this amazing life? Easy, he wouldn't.

Or so he thought.
