Hades

She's gone when we go to check on her.

Answers. I want them.

The note in my hand gives me hope that she'll come back to make good on her one word promise. A promise I'll be happy to fulfill.
"War is coming." Perse states from the doorway. A scowl rests on my face as I turn to face her but her tear steaked face drains me of any and all emotion. "The Oracles have seen it. They sent word to us and your brothers." As her words come to an end, I hear two very loud, very angry voices demanding my presence.
Zeus has lightening flashing in his eyes, while hurricanes form in Poseidens. I might be the oldest but I'm damn sure treated like the youngest.
"Brother, the Oracles say we're on the brink of war amongst the Gods." Zeus spits at me. Poseiden spins his trident waiting to be the shark he actually is. Always waiting for the smell of blood in the water. "Must I remind you of the last time there was war in your domain?" My youngest brother sneers at me. He doesn't have to remind me of shit. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Nyx's children had gone completely feral. Mortal blood, and ichor flowed through River Styx. Demanding retribution for disrespect. Demanding my Blessed Death sacrifice herself and her Island. Sacrifice her love for Death himself. Thanatos had stayed out of the war, wanting to protect my daughter and avoid raising his sword to his siblings. That changed after one brutal afternoon. I'd been in a war meeting when the images projected into my head.

"My brothers Sweet Mercy, I think you've stumbled into the wrong cave." I feel the fear in my daughters strong heart. Watching as Hypnos lazily stalks around her, my blood boils. "Pretty little things tend get broken." The God of Sleep mumbles, voice thick and monotoned.
"Makaria. I am Makaria. I am not your Sweet Mercy." My daughter sounds strong even as panic rises in her throat. I hear chains rattle and realize she's chained to the cave wall. Rage fulls me farther.
"Tsk, Tsk,- Maybe my brother should have been clearer on the dynamics of our family." Hypnos tsks as he stops and faces her. "We- my twin and I- share everything. Especially women. Until you came along and Thanatos became a little possesive. Eris has never been disrespect the way you did to her and Blessed Death you are one lucky girl to have been caught by me and not her." A breeze whispers through the opening and I feel her shiver. Sleep gets closer and I see how bloodshot his eyes are. This might be the longest he's gone without a good nap. I hear fabric rip and a whimper escape the tiny body of my daughter.
"No wonder my brother finds himself incapable of sharing." Hypnos whistles, eyes dragging down her body. I'll feed his eyes to Cerberus. I want to look away, I want to scream. I more than anything want to make the Bastard suffer for what's about to happen. A loud smack rings out and my cheek feels like it's on fire.
"You're going to show me everything my brother has seen and refused to share with me what I'm rightfully owed." He growls as my tiny child sobs.
"I'm still a virgin Goddess." She screams and sobs as another slap cracks across the other side of her face.
"LIAR!" Hypnos snaps while he spins Makaria around to face the wall of the cave. I feel my innocent daughter shutdown completely. I feel her tiny body convulse, heavy shakes are followed with gut wrentching, rage inducing sobs.
"I'll always be your Waking Nightmare." The Bastard whispers into the pale hair of my smallest child. The war council comes back to view as I'm haunted by the screams of pain and fear. Thanatos asks a question I can't focus on.
"Everyone. Out." I seeth fury and see red. I grab a pair of dark wings as they try to leave as well. "Not.You." Ice stares back at me, confusion written across his expression.
"Time to pick a fucking side, Than. You want no part in recieving what I have plan after what I just saw from your suicidal twin." The confusion deepens on Deaths face. I pinch the bridge of my nose hard. The man in front of me is the dark copy of the source of my rolling rage and it takes everything to remind myself who's actually in front of me. "Hypnos took Makaria." Anger seeps in and Thanatos triples in size at my words.
"What" He pauses, I watch the war inside play out on his face. He starts once more as I wait. "What EXACTLY do you mean by took?" His question throws me off a tad. Not by the words exiting his mouth but the tone associated with them. It's the same voice Perse uses when I let her question a child rapist. Pure, unfiltered and uncaged wrath.

Sparks jumping from snapping fingers pulls me back to the present. My eyes find my water-logged brother instead of immeadiately looking at the thunderstorm brewing in front of me.
"Death ripped his family apart. I remember the out come. Had our darling leader of a brother not offered a treaty of peace between Nyx's children and my child, the temporary casualties would've been too much to sustain life." I've repeated the same mantra to them many times over. Neither of them know what happened prior to Thanatos squaring off with his eager siblings, alone. I sure as shit won't tell them what I had to play witness too.
Sparks for brains decides to pick then to open his mouth. "Hades, You are to be held for enticing war and breaking the treaty of peace with the Goddess of Night, Nyx." My fight vanishes. Fucking Great.
