TALIA's POV
"You guys almost ready for senior year?" My dad asked. We all shrugged knowing that the summer was almost over.
"I guess, I mean I don't really want everything to change yet." John B sighed. I think we all know deep down that him and Sarah are gonna have a hard time staying together when the school year comes.
Regardless of how much they love each other, she's a kook, he's a pogue. Different schools, and different lives.
I glanced over to JJ who sat next to me, probably thinking the same thing I was.
"Who knows, maybe this year will be different." I said trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah," JJ smiled. I can tell he's trying so hard to fix our relationship and it's really sweet, but it'll take time. I don't forgive him for cheating, or all the other things he did, but it's not worth losing him again.
"Well the good thing is, you guys have another few weeks of summer," My dad spoke grabbing his keys getting ready to leave.
We all just nodded and smiled. He sighed, knowing it was something none of us were looking forward to.
"Ok guys, I'm heading out for the night. Your all welcome to stay over, just don't do anything I wouldn't approve of." He laughed.
"Alright you got it sir," JB laughed shaking his hand. My dad kissed my head and left.
We sat in silence for a moment. "What do you guys think is gonna happen when school does start?" Kiara asked.
"Nothing? We've done this 11 years what makes this summer any different." JJ scoffed. We all slowly turned our heads to look at him.
"Everything about the group is now different." Pope huffed.
"He's not wrong. I think we should just make the best of the time we have left. I mean this summer has been crazy, but look at us now," I smiled. JJ smiled putting his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.
I cleared my throat, scooting away from him. Regardless of my obvious feelings for JJ, I was still with Tyler and he needed to respect that. Regardless of how guilty I felt about those feelings.
He sighed and stayed quiet. ___________________
Later that night we sat around watching a movie when there was a knock at the door. I got up to open it, leaving my popcorn which was sure to be gone when I got back.
"Hey! I haven't seen you in so long, I missed you." I smiled hugging Tyler.
"Who is it?" Sarah called out from the living room. "It's Ty!" I called back. Everyone said hello.
Tyler stood with his arms crossed and he looked upset. "Hey what's wrong?" I asked stepping outside and closing the door behind me.
He cleared his throat avoiding eye contact with me. I held onto his arm streaking my thumb back and forth trying to calm him.
