A/N
Hey guys, just a couple points for the oneshot to make sense:
1. I know I didn't get the quotes completely accurate or that some of these things may not have happened, but in this au, they did.
2. In this au, Dream is in college.
3. I'm sorry Pandas, I wanted to give you more lines but I thought it would take away focus from the storyline :(.
4. If any of the creators say they are uncomfortable with this, it will be taken down.
5. If you have any feedback, positive or negative, please comment and let me know! Constructive criticism helps growth :).
I'll let you read now, thanks for giving this a chance :).

Clay rummaged through his bag as he curled tighter underneath the college table. People all around him were sobbing and on calls. He just had a few things he wanted to say.

***

"George?"
Sapnap and Dream had been playing Sky Wars for 2 hours now, and Dream had just brought up his new topic of interest for that week.
"I don't know man, but he codes for Bad so you could probably ask him."
Dream genuinely smiled as he collected emeralds for best friend.
"Thanks dude, I appreciate it."

~

"Hello? You wanted to talk?" The smile on Dream's face couldn't have bloomed any brighter.
"Yes, hi George! I just had a few questions about a code..."
And Dream knew he had been right with his instinct.

~

"Come hereee, Georgeee!" Dream just had a few blocks separating him from his prey as they ran through a birch forest.
"No, Dream! Get away from me, leave me alone!!"
"Oh Georgieee!" At that, a blocky player named 'GeorgeNotFound' froze and turned towards Dream's avatar. Dream stopped right in front his friend.
"Georgie? What the hell type of name is that?!" Dream chuckled.
"I don't know, ask your Mum." George sputtered as Dream started wheezing, banging his desk for dramatic flare.
"Oh my God, I can't with you." Dream took the opportunity to kill George's character before he wiped his teary eyes.
"Hm, Georgie seems fitting. Lets keep it."

~

"One mill! LETS GO!"
"LETS GOOO! POG!" Dream slammed his hands down on his desk as he and George hyped each other up. George had just hit one million subscribers, both of their YouTooz had sold out, merch was being brought faster than Dream's top speed run times, and everything was just going well.
"I FUCKING LOVE YOU DREAM!" Dream's cheeks not only hurt from smiling, but also felt the heat of the sun as he processed what George had said.
"YESSS! I KNEW YOU LOVED ME! I LOVE YOU TOO, GEORGIE! ALL THE HOMO!"
"EW! Never mind, I take back what I said."
"NOOO, GEORGIE!"
Needless to say, they had a good night.

~

"Are you ready?" Dream winced as he loaded YouTube, going for his last plan.
"... Yes, I'm ready." He accepted George's FaceTime with a finger over his camera, holding his breath.
"Chat, he has his finger over the camera! Hurry up, Dream!" George whines as Dream shuffled around and angled the phone.
"Fine, fine... here."
"..."
"..."
"DREAMMM, NO!" The blond chuckled nervously as he tried to reason with his best friend.
"It's my face, it counts." A whine could be heard from George as Dream watched him slide down his chair on stream.
"GUYS! He's showing me his stupid profile picture on YouTube! What the hell Dream." George popped into the view enough just to pout at the camera, and Dream felt his heartstrings pull tight.
"It counts, George. Now, I'd like to hear those special three words."
"NO! I'm not satisfied! Here, let's ask chat..."

Clay had hung up two minutes ago, but his forest-green eyes were still glued onto the screen that held one of the most important people in his life.
"Sapnap... should I just say it? This feels so awkward." A chuckle could be heard, and George exhaled as he leaned back into his chair. A click, and then his facecam disappeared.
"Dream... I know you're still here. I... God, I hate this." Another sigh, and then:

"I love you, Dream."

And as his phone flew to the end of his bed, and his heart raced like it was in a marathon, Clay cupped his hot cheeks and his breath stuttered. He curled into a ball and leaned into the headboard of his bed as he felt a pit of fear in his stomach.

He... he really loved George.

Like, loved George. His best friend.

Shit.

~

As he walked through his campus, Clay typed into the box on his screen and watched the message appear on the live video.
"'Don't you just love being 5'8, Georgie?'" Clay tucked his chin into the collar of his lime green hoodie as he watched George smirk and roll his eyes.
"Thank you for the dono, Pissbaby." Clay giggled softly as he logged out of the stream, just after hearing George chuckle quietly.

Clay reached his class early and pulled out his notes, flipping to the back of the book. He smiled as he started to write out plans for recording later on.

***

Clay's hands shook as he scrolled through his contacts and clicked on the name he had been looking for. He cursed as he heard the clicking of footsteps over the hushed sobbing.

Georgie 🤩💚

George.
I know you're probably busy right now.
But if anything happens,

Clay flinched as the class door was broken down. He heard the clicks of something stupidly legal to buy in the US.

I love you.
