Life is an ocean.
Sometimes it's stormy.
The waves crash down on me,
the salt water stings my eyes.
I can't see where the shore is.
I feel like giving up,
but I fight the waves
and keep on swimming.
Sometimes it's blazing hot.
The sun beats down on me,
my skin burns bright red.
It hurts,
but I ignore the pain
and keep on swimming.
Sometimes it's dark and silent.
I feel the dangers that lurk within the cold water.
Fear fills my dying heart,
but I hold back my tears
and keep on swimming.
Sometimes though, its just right.
I lie on my bare back,
The soft, smooth water rolling beneath me,
rocking me as a mother rocks her child-
back and forth, back and forth,
to a rhythm only love can make,
so I close my eyes and float on.
