Breakups are one of the hardest thing a teenager has to go through. Most people think it's fine. But why does Bakugou feel like his entire world is crashing upon him?
"
Please. Please don't do this." he begs to kirishima, who stares blankly down at him. His own tears threatening to spill at any second.
"I'm sorry. I can't keep pretending everything's fine. I'm not good for you, I'm not making you any better and when I try to it backfires onto me. We've had several arguments this week alone, Katsuki. I've found someone that I really like. And he likes me too. Please let me go. Let me be happy."
That only makes Katsuki cry more as he sinks to his knees, leaving Eijiro to leave the room, nothing but silence and the sound of the blonde boy's heartwrenching sobs behind him.
If only he hadnt opened up to the redhead, if only he hadn't blown up at every opportunity he could get. If only he wasn't the way he was.
-
Katsuki had been crying for over an hour now, banging his head against the wall over and over again, dragging his torn up and bitten nails across his scar littered skin, creating small cuts here and there as he begged to no one in particular.
Slowly his sobs began to shallow, pain being replaced with a dulling feeling, the feeling of nothing being real, of nothing existing. He sat slumped against his wall, staring emotionlessly towards the floor as he scrambled over to his desk, rummaging through one of his drawers, pulling out the small metal blade that's used more than Katsuki would like to admit.
-
Shoto laid in bed, his ears perked at the sound of muffled sobs, eyebrows furrowed with concern as he considered getting up to check on the person in question.
'I'm too tired for this shit, I'll check tomorrow' he thought as he shifted so that he was on his side, heterochromatic eyes fluttering shut as he allowed himself to slip into a light slumber.
-
The next day was hell for Bakugou. Forcing himself to move his legs as he dragged himself into the classroom, slumping down onto his desk as his eyes glanced at the redhead in the corner, another familiar blonde seated on his lap, smiles dancing on their faces.
They looked back, empathy washing over their expressions as they awkwardly detached themselves, going to their respective desks and only occasionally looking towards each other, then at Katsuki, who was concerningly quiet.
That's how most of the day went, up until hero training, of course.
Everyone went to their respective lockers in the changing rooms, switching from their usual school uniforms to hero costumes, not noticing that a certain explosive blonde was hiding in the toilets, quickly swapping outfits and adjusting the clothing to hide the marks he'd made the night before.
He huffed, exhaustion evident on every inch of his body as he followed the class outside to the training grounds. Today they weren't doing much, just working on improving their quirks in order to be the most powerful they can. Everyone was far spread in order to not hit each other with their quirks.
Katsuki was sandwiched between Todoroki and Momo, who were both too focused on their own work to see the latter wobbling and swaying as he tried to catch his breath.
Sweat slid down his skin, mixing with tears as he desperately clung onto consciousness.
Little did he know, a certain dual quirk wielder was making his way quickly towards him as his knees buckled, everything fading to black as the last thing he heard was a shrill scream of "BAKUGOU".
-
"Guys! Sensei he's waking up!"
A blinding light filled Katsuki's vision as he opened his eyes.
As his eyes adjusted, he noticed the entire class towering over him, disregarding Kirishima and Kaminari, who had shrunk away from the group, the guilt never leaving their faces as Katsuki was bombarded with questions.
"Todoroki, would you escort young Bakugou to Recovery Girl now that he's awoken." spoke their teacher.
Fear raked through Katsukis body as he feverishly shook his head, encouraging the class to become more concerned at his current state. Comments and queries fell upon deaf ears as Bakugou felt himself being picked up and carried off in the direction of the dorms.
"its okay, you're safe," began a monotone voice, the only voice Katsuki has heard for a few minutes, "I'm not going to take you to Recovery Girl, we're going back to your dorm. I'm assuming you've got your keys on you?"
Katsuki calmed at this, nodding quietly as the rest of the journey was made in silence.
Eventually, he felt himself being laid on a soft surface, looking up at the heterochromatic boy who turned to leave after. His hand moved without thinking, grabbing onto the sleeve of Todoroki's hero costume, making the latter come to a halt and look back with the same neutral expression he always had.
"stay"
Katsuki hated the way he sounded. He sounded weak. Shaken. Broken.
The bed dipped as the taller of the two sat down. Katsuki propped himself up to look at him.
"You and Kirishima aren't together anymore it seems," Shoto began, "I heard you crying last night. Do you wanna talk about it or something?"
A sharp intake of breath could be heard.
"I'd rather just forget about it."
"Okay... So what do you wanna do?"
Katsuki was delirious. He could've sworn that the moment Todoroki had said that, he had wrapped his arms around his neck and pulled him closer, connecting their lips.
