(Saiki's POV)

Another day at P.K Academy. It's nothing different. Kaido's still got his hero complex, Hairo's keeping people motivated, and Nendo's being... Nendo. Well, today is kind of strange. Everyone's gossiping about some new student. If there were a new student, then I'd hear their thoughts, but there's no one new coming in. Guess it's just a rumor.

As I turn the corner, I almost bump into someone in the hall. It's not normal for someone like me to not see someone coming, so I'm initially surprised by her, but I do manage to dodge her. She looks at me and gasps. She's tall with dark skin and dark brown eyes. Her hair is done into twists that go down to her chin. Why am I describing her? I'm assuming it's because she's the main character of this fanfiction.

I have to get to class, quickly! I can't be late on the first day. I'm very sorry, sir, but I don't have the time to apologize just yet!

She starts to run off towards whatever class she's supposed to be in and I head to my own. So she's the new student... I enter the class and sit at my desk, ready to sit through whatever lesson will be presented to us.

"Alright, class, we have a new student. Please be silent as she introduces herself," the teacher says.

The girl from earlier enters and writes her name on the board in English. Her hand is shaking and she seems nervous. She slowly turns to the class.

"H-Hello..." She speaks in broken Japanese. She isn't very good at it, but it's nice to see that she tries. "M-My name is J-Jacqueline Veere... I-I'm a t-transfer f-from Am-America a-and m-my Japanese isn't v-very good, b-but I'm t-trying to learn." She smiles at us.

"Nice to meet you, Jacqueline. You should be able to communicate in English. The students learned," the teacher says.

"Thank you, sir," Jacqueline replies. "Where's my seat?"

"Right there next to Saiki." What!? No, don't make her sit next to me!

"Thank you." She sits down next to me. I guess it was inevitable.

I sigh, silently. There's nothing worse than a new student because they're always interested in me. I hate being the center of the attention.

If he's my neighbor, I should try to say hi, at least...

Please don't.

Yeah, no. I can't do that, it's too hard.

Thank you.

Although, I do have to make some friends... And he is the closest person here... No, I'll wait until I have some free time. For now, I have to focus on bettering my Japanese.

(Jacqueline's POV)

The bell rings for lunch. It's going to be hard for me to talk to anyone, but I guess I can try. I get up from my seat and start heading to the lunchroom. I don't know what the etiquette for ordering food is, if there even is one, so I brought my own. I sit down at a table and start to eat.

"Hello, Jacqueline! My name is Kokomi Teruhashi. It's nice to meet you!" A girl with long blue hair approaches me.

"Oh, hello! It's nice to meet you..." Wow, she's pretty... "Are you in my class? I think I saw you around."

"Mhm!" She nods, happily. "I am!"

"That's really cool! Would you like to study with me after school? My language skills could use a little help." I laugh, nervously.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry! I have something to do tonight."

"Oh, well I guess I could arrange something for tomorrow? No, wait, I have to go shopping that day..."

"What a shame. I'll see you later, then!" She leaves to sit at another table.

Dang it, I messed it up! Should I not have asked her to study? Maybe I should've asked her if we could do something fun. I can't go out without my parent's permission, though. I don't know how the neighborhood is around here. We did get a cheap house, after all. Better luck next time, I guess.

I put my earbuds in and start to write in my notebook. I know this is cliche for a fanfiction, but I have a bit of a power, however it only resides in something specific. If I write in a specific notebook which is hidden away from anyone, then it comes true. Along with that, I can request to know about someone in the notebook and it tells me. I can also have conversations with it. So far, it's my only friend here. The only problem is that I can't let anyone know I have this. I can't make any big changes, either. I can really only do actions. Like making my parents do my chores for me so I can do my homework. It's more of a special item than a power, so I don't use it very often.

I look up from my completely normal notebook and look at the table Teruhashi sat at. She sat with Saiki, along with a few other people. Not a lot, it wasn't the whole school, but it was an interesting few. There's one guy with spiky red hair who is basically on fire. He's the most interesting of the group. There's another person with bandages on his arm, but it doesn't look like he's injured in any way. Finally, there's a guy with a very, very scary looking face and quite a stupid hairstyle just asking for ramen. I'd talk to them, but they're too much of a group for me. I really don't want to, either. Well, I do, I just don't want to deal with the social anxiety that comes with it.

I close my notebook and turn my phone off. It's time to head back to class. As I'm walking down the hallway, I bump into someone. I gasp and fall back, dropping my books.

"Oww!"

"I'm very sorry!" He says. "Are you alright, miss!?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine..." I stand up and start to pick up my things.

"Here, let me help you." He starts picking up my books and papers.

"Thank you..." I smile at him and take my books.

"Oh, you're the new kid, Jacqueline, right? My name is Kineshi Hairo! I'm the class president!"

"It's nice to meet you, Hairo."

"So, where are you headed? If you're headed to class three, then you're going the wrong way."

"Am I? Thank you for telling me."

"It's nothing. Here, let me walk you there."

(Saiki's POV)

Oh, so she already has feelings for someone. Wait, why isn't it me? I'm another main character in this fanfiction, I know that, so where do I come in? It's my telepathy, isn't it?
