I was new to Sunnyvale Trailer Park. It was a new change for my life, after leaving my abusive ex-boyfriend back in the US. I had just settled down and finally had most of my belongings unpacked and the trailer cleaned.
The warmth of my trailer was so comforting, also the smell of my Scentsy filled the room with a settling scent of vanilla bean. I had just sat down on the couch with my cat Muffin when I heard a knock on the front door. Startled, I looked out the doors peep hole to see a tall, buff, dark haired, and handsome man with a glass in his right hand. Reluctantly I opened the door.

"Hello, sorry to bother you but, I noticed you today unpacking the moving truck and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Julian, I live right next to you."

He stated while pointing to the trailer next to me.

"Well, thank you Julian! It's nice to meet you and I'm glad you came over, I know no one around here. By the way, I'm Y/N."

He extended his hand to shake mine.

"So, you don't know anyone around here? I don't know if that's a good or bad thing."

He chuckled, a tiny little grin came upon his face.

"If you'd like I can introduce you to some of the people around here. It's not a bad park to live in, just very interesting and eventful."

He said looking into my eyes.

"That would be awesome Julian! I do appreciate it. Would you like to come in? I'd love to get to know you more."

You asked him. We both walked to my couch and sat down. I could smell the scent of rum on him. Not too little and not too much. He also smelled of cologne. The light volumed music in the background played as I reached for my wine I was drinking before he showed up.

"So, Y/N, where are you from if you're not from around here?"

He questioned me. I looked at him after sipping from the wine glass.

"I'm from the US actually."

I looked at him reluctantly. He looked at me with this puzzled look on his face. His face was literally perfect. He had these damn gorgeous blue eyes and dark hair that was slightly curly.

"Now why would you come all the way up to Nova Scotia??!"

He looked at me puzzled again. I put my head down a little. I looked back up and he was sipping from his glass.

"I actually had no choice.. I had this boyfriend, Derek, he was.. Not nice to me. He was very abusive. I fled."

I began to feel all the miserable emotions I wanted to avoid. My face got a little red and my eyes started to teared up.
I fought the urge to cry. I couldn't cry in front of someone I just met.

"I'm so sorry Y/N.. Well, we don't have anyone in this park that'll hurt you. I promise you that. And if you have any problems with anyone, don't hesitate to come to me. I'll personally take care of anyone who bothers you."

He looked me straight in the eyes and raised one eyebrow.

"You'll come to me, right?"

He asked.

"Yes.. yes Julian. Thank you so much.. That means so much to me.. I really can't tell you how much safer I feel now.."

I looked at him sincerely as I was wiping some loose tears that had escaped and rolled down my cheeks.

"You seem like such a nice person and I don't believe in hurting women or even pretty ones for that matter."

I was now more red, but not from the sensitive subject of my life back in the US. I smiled and he smiled back.

"Thank you so much Julian."

"Trust me, it's my pleasure.

He smiled, as did I.
