}:{ Elin's POV }:{

I took a quick look around the odd pizzeria. With the room looking a little empty, it seemed like the rest of the kids were in the party room. I could barely make out the muffled singing over the music. I knew one thing for sure, this birthday party was awesome! Tables were covered with decorative white table cloths with colorful party hats as a design. Arcade game consoles were flashing and blinking with wild lights. Even with the bright colors, there was something unsettling about the place, though. Something about the pizzeria seemed... I dunno... off. But I shrugged it off, too excited and overwhelmed to care. The floor was black and white checkers, like a classic kitchen floor. Cold air touched my arms, giving me goosebumps.

"How long do we have to wait for food?" I grumbled as my stomach growled. Emmerson walked to my side, her cleats scraping on the tiled flooring. She put her baseball bat onto the table, as she raised her hands into view. She began to do sign language.

"You know we quite literally just got here." Emmerson signed, and rolled her eyes.

"But you don't know how long it's been since I've eaten!" I said indignantly, looking from her hands, to her eyes.

Emmerson cocked an eyebrow. "You were stuffing yourself with Pringles when I found you before hopping into the car to get here. And that wasn't even an hour ago."

"Eh, I get hungry fast." I pouted.

My friend rolled her eyes. "Clearly."

The two sat down at one of the tables as the other kids had done.

"Have you heard about that missing girl?" I whispered.

Emmerson cocked a brow. "No? Where did you hear that from?"

"Read it. It was in the newspaper a few weeks ago."

"Why do you bring this up now?"

"I forgot. I just remembered it here because in the newspaper it said she was the daughter of the guy who builds the animatronics. Ya know, Afton?"

"Doesn't ring a bell." Emmerson replied, as she looked around the table. Then she picked up the closest cupcake and took a bite.

"Well never mind then, it was just a passing thought. It just seemed kind of weird that the last place they saw her was in the pizzeria." They sat in silence for a few minutes while Emmerson finished her cupcake.

"I sure can not blame you for thinking that. With this place having one too many creepy things about it, this place seems pretty fishy to me." She signed, then wiped the frosting off her face. Then licked it off her fingers.

"What about this place seems creepy to you?" I questioned, although I had a similar feeling.

Emmerson lowered her hands, and rolled the bat on the table to one hand, then the other. After a few rolls, she leaned back in her chair, she looked coldly around the room. She lifted her baseball cap up to get a better look and wiped a bit of pink frosting off of it that somehow made its way up there.

But before she could answer, a man came into the party room. "Everyone that came for Kaden's party, come to the entertainment room!" He called. Kids got up from their seats and started toward the man while some stayed. The ones who were going to Kaden's party were going, including Emmerson and I.

Emmerson eyed the kids that were walking out of the room, then raised an eyebrow at me.

"He said we're going to the," I stopped for dramatic effect, and so Emmerson would have time to read my lips. "Entertainment room!"

Emmerson nodded, then slowly stood up and grabbed the baseball bat from the table. She lifted it up and let it rest on her shoulder and began to follow the mob of kids.

I snorted as she quickly grabbed a cupcake before following the rest of the kids out of the room. Then I followed suit, standing and running after my friend, not wanting to be left behind.
