It's 1st December today and I have a different level of excitement in me because it is my Christmas month.

Christmas has always been my favorite because I have got a gift every year this month. Dad always says that the gift is sent by mum for me and on Christmas I always thank her for being so special. From today onwards I start listening to the Christmas carol songs only to get into the vibe of this jolly month.

I enter the forest route after riding for a while. My college is not far from my home so I take a longer route through the forest area in order to enjoy the cold weather and nature.

The canopy formed by the trees makes me feel heavenly and when the tires of my bicycle crush the fallen leaves, I realize how beautiful it can be sometimes to be all alone.

To reach my college now I have to join the main road which I really don't like because of the honks of the cars and other people passing by. As I connect with the main road I switch off my songs and put my headphones around my neck so that I don't bump myself into a car or into someone else like I did in the first year of my college. The weather is subtle here with breeze flowing and the sun trying to pierce through the sky.

I stop my bicycle and check around to cross the road as my college is on the opposite side. Seeing the road clear, I start riding my bicycle across the road.

Out of blue a loud honk bursts my eardrums. I put my feet down to stop my bicycle in a shock with my heart almost coming into my mouth. My eyes shut in fear of getting crushed but after a few seconds I realize that I am still alive.

Breathing very heavily I open my eyes slowly and turn my head towards my right to see the idiot who scared the wits out of me. As my head finally turns towards right, I see a car which has stopped just an inch before me. I am standing in the middle of the road with a car which was about to crush me had the driver not put the brake.

The anger in me boils up and before I could get off my bicycle I hear a familiar sound saying "Kate are you okay". I turn my face to the direction of the sound and I see my best friend Caleb who has stopped dead in his tracks with his eyes bulging out almost. He runs towards me and hugs me very tightly. I clutch him too with both my arms as I feel the comfort of being alive with my best friend.

"I am okay Caleb please relax. I know you got scared but see I am all fine and in one piece".

He loosens his arms around me and slowly steps back. He cups my face in his hands and looks into my eyes feeling the fear that I just went through.

"Nothing has happened to you. I won't let anything happen to you ever", he says while staring into my eyes.

Whenever he says this, I feel something which makes me feel that I will never be alone in this world.

"Yes Caleb, I am not leaving you to stay happy without me", I say while giggling a little. He smiles back. Just then the car honks again and I realize that I have an unfinished job.

We look towards the car and I get off my bicycle and start walking towards the car. The window of the car is open and I can see a man sitting with his hands on the steering wheel. I cannot see his full face as he's looking in front and wearing goggles.

He turns his head towards me. "Are you crazy? Couldn't you see that I was crossing the road. You were driving at the maximum speed. It is dangerous for not only me but also for you" I shout at the maximum length of my voice.

He removes his goggles and stares at me blankly with no emotions as if nothing has happened. I get more angry seeing this reaction and I pull the keys out from his car. He cannot go away without apologizing for almost putting my life into danger.
