I woke up to a loud beeping noise and bright white lights clouding my vision. I squinted and went to cover my eyes but felt a sharp tug on the top of my hand and a tube giving me oxygen threw my nose. I reached over to yank them off but a strong warm hand grabbed mine.
"Don't even think about it," he growled. I flinched slightly at the harshness in his voice. Finally after a couple minutes I got used to the light and slowly opened my eyes to find his glaring deep into mine.
"Hey baby..." I whispered reaching up to kiss him. He took a step back.
"Don't. Violet I cannot believe you would do this to me!" He yelled at me his voice and hands shaking.
"Damian I am sorry... I didn't do it to upset you...." I cried with tears in my eyes. He looked angry and just as he stepped towards me, his shaking hand raised, the doctor came in.
"Hello Violet. How are you feeling?" He asked checking my fluids and bags and oxygen.
"I'm fine. What's the news?"
"Well, you had to get blood transfused into your body. As well as oxygen and I had to stitch back up your wrist. There isn't much else to say. We do expect you to stay for a three-day evaluation in PBH," he said going to hand me the forms.
I knew this routine well, it wasn't abnormal for me to go to PBH. It was basically my second home.
"Wait, I have really rare blood and this hospital hasn't had it for a long time. How did you do it?" I asked looking up at him. How did I know this? Well simple, I have been in the hospital a million and one times and numerous times I have had to be transferred because the hospital didn't carry my blood.
I should start donating to myself.
"Tyler, unfortunately, has the same blood type, he saved you," Damian growled from the side.
"Unfortunately? That's pretty shitty, but whatever. May I speak with him?" I asked the doctor trying to ignore Damian's rudeness.
"I'll send him in."
I watched the doctor leave and looked over at Damian. He was still glaring at me his body shaking.
"Babe, calm down, please," I begged reaching my gauzed up arm towards him. He rejected it turning to look out the window. This is what I get for trying to be nice.
Suddenly a blonde blur covered my vision as I was wrapped in a strong embrace by my best friend. He pulled away his blue eyes full of nothing but worry.
"Violet, how are you feeling?" He asked in a concerned voice.
"Tyler calm down, I'm fine," I said rubbing his scruffy cheek.
Tyler has been my best friend for years. We dated on and off when we were younger but as I just said, we were young. Then I met Damian and even though I still cared about Tyler, Damian and I clicked. I felt awful but I couldn't help it.
"I'm going to work, I'll be back later tonight," Damian suddenly seethed as he left the room quickly.
"He's mad at me, that and he doesn't like you very much, will you stay with me?" I begged him in my scratchy voice. He sat next to me holding me in his pale embrace.
"Of course I will," he said kissing the top of my head.
Tyler has always been super skinny and super pale but that never bothered me. Okay, maybe a little. I always felt so big next to him but no matter what he always made me feel protected.
I curled into him and we watched tv for a little bit before slowly dozing off. Tyler never asked me about what happened, he always figured I would tell him if I felt I needed to, I loved that about him.
I was awoken by the door being flung open. I opened my eyes to see Damian standing there glaring harshly at us. I looked up at him and found Tyler's face panic-stricken.
"What?" I asked watching them.
Damian charged forward his fist high aiming for Tyler just as the doctor walked in.
"Problem gentlemen?" He asked watching them.
"None, I'm going to go get something to eat, feel better," Tyler said running out. I watched him leave then looked at the doctor.
"Yes?"
"Um, we aren't going to keep you in PBH, we are sending you home," he said with a grave look in his face.
"Okay, why?" I asked concern rising in my voice. Yes I was concerned they weren't sending me to PBH. I am weird, I'm aware.
"Um, your blood work came back, and it showed you were positive." He said this obviously trying to be happy, but his face showed nothing but worry.
"Positive? I haven't done any drugs or anything," I told him really confused.
"That's not exactly what I mean. Congratulations you guys, you're pregnant.
Hey guys, so I know this is all really short and lacks information. I am attempting to stretch it out right now. I'm changing some stuff. I don't know.
Any feedback would be great. Thanks.
