Finding the Luna

Chapter One

I wish for once I could be like a normal teen and have a normal birthday. But nope I just had to be born into a long line of powerful werewolves. I may be getting ahead of my self so please have a seat and grab a snack I will take you to the very beginning of this long and tiring year.

The morning of my 18th birthday, I was awoken by my ten year old brother Austin. "Allison wake up. " He spoke as he jumped on my bed,careful not to step on me while I covered my face with my pillow. "Come on Ally, it's your special day! Mom chocolate chip waffles and dad is out buying supplies for today "
I groaned, quite annoyed that the child was still jumping around on my bed. I slowly peeked my eyes open and reached out, pulling him down onto the bed and wrapping him in my arms. "Austin, what did I tell you about waking me up by jumping on my bed?" I mumbled quietly as I rubbed my eyes.

I was not mad at him really. My little brother meant no harm in waking me up. It is my birthday after all. I blinked and rubbed my eyes once again, slowly letting go of Austin. "I'm sorry Ally, but mom asked me to wake you. Happy birthday !" He smiled and hugged me tightly. "Thank you " I smiled and hugged him back. I looked down at my little brother running my fingers through his silky, black strands of hair as he stared at me happily with his vibrant green eyes.

Austin was the perfect mixture of my mom and dad. On the other hand, I was most definitely my fathers child and there was no denying that one. Austin had our mothers kind smile, her vibrant green eyes and rosy cheeks. While he took the my fathers hair color and attitude.

"You can go down stairs now Little Wolf. Thank you for waking me up" I offered him a soft,appreciative smile while watching him leave my room. As soon as he left my room, I sat up and grabbed my phone. My friends had sent me birthday messages and began asking me if I had already met my mate. By my mate I mean my soulmate, yes the person I'm supposed to spend forever with. Once a werewolf turns 18 they can meet their mate at any point in their life.

I quickly responded to them with an 'No, not yet' before I got dressed for the day. Normally  I take a long time but today my shower was cut short since my parents wanted to see me. I threw on some ripped black jeans and a plaid red and white shirt before slipping into my combat boots I got for Christmas, after brushing my teeth and fixing my hair.

I put my phone in my pocket as I walked down stairs, smiling and waving to my parents." Hey mom, Hi dad." They both stopped their conversation and got up to come hug me.  "Oh Allison, I can't believe you are finally 18" my mom said with tears threatening to spill as she tightened her grip around me. My dad and I both laughed before he finally spoke to her after clearing his throat. " Kelly darling, please let my princess breathe. Look at the poor girl, she's already running out of air."

My mom let go and we all laughed uncontrollably for the next few minutes before my father grew serious. "Allison, this year is serious. You will meet your mate at some point and when that time comes you'll have to move in with him. We won't be able to see you much if he is in another pack." He frowned as he stared at me. For my dad, it's hard to see his princess grow up and fall in love. I just nodded my head and went to sit down. Breakfast with my family was one of my favorite times of the day. But today it felt different, like it would be the last one.

We talked and ate, we even laughed and reminisced over old times. I soon checked my phone and realized it was time for me to go see my friends. Tavin, Marcel, and Jessica have been my friends since we were babies. I'm the Alpha's daughter so everyone always acted shy or nervous around me.  Tavin and Marcel are twins and they are the Beta's sons. Jessica is the daughter of lower ranked wolves who has never been afraid to speak her mind.

I thanked my parents for the meal and cleaned my dishes before grabbing my keys. Once I headed outside, staring down at my phone I walked into a very hard brick wall or so I thought. It was only Tavin's muscular chest in front  of me. This made me huff because he does this all the time. And every time he does, he tells me I need to watch my surroundings. " Little wolf, you should watch where you are going " He chuckled softly, his deep voice booming through my ears.
