Our Hearts Beats as one (Book 2)

CHAPTER 32

~HERO~

I've been playing with Blake the whole morning and now it's past noon. I better wake up Weston. I walk inside and she's nowhere to be found. Where the fuck is she? I pick up my phone and see a message from her saying that she and Riley headed out a few hours ago. I let out a sigh. Blake comes inside.

"Where's Westlon?" He asks. "She's out somewhere with Riley."

"Oh, okay. Will she be back?"

"I hope so. I miss her." I tell him. "Me too. She's pretty." I chuckle. "Yes, she is. Are you hungry?"

"Yes, but you can't make food. Westlon told me, and she can't make food either, right?" I chuckle again. "That's right. We can't." This little man, so wise. He reminds me of Pollux when we grew up. I was the bad seed and Pollux almost turned himself inside out to get attention and affection from our parents. But he never got any. Neither did I.

I see Weston's car pulling up in the backyard. I open the door and let the dogs out. Blake and I walk outside to greet her. I can tell something is up with her. She's been crying. She squats and greets the dogs, and when she sees me her eyes flicker and she's trying to hold back her tears. Riley walks over to Blake. "Hey, buddy. Are you hungry?"

"Hey, Riley. Yeah and Hero can't cook." Riley giggled. "Aww, I know. Come on, I'll make something." Blake looks at me and I nod. He takes Riley's hand and follows her up to the clubhouse. I walk towards Weston. She doesn't look at me. She bites her lip. I'm feeling nervous. What's up with her? "Hey, babe. What's wrong?" She smiles weakly and holds out a box to me. I take it and look at her.

"What's this?" I ask. "Open it." I open the box and see a pregnancy test, and it's positive. "Are you?"

"Yes. I did five tests. I'm pregnant as hell." She smirks but it doesn't reach her eyes. I tilt my head and pull her into my arms. "What's on your mind? Are you happy? Or sad?" She sniffs as she puts her head against my chest. "I don't know."

"Okay. Let's go inside. I want you in my arms." I tell her. "Okay." I pick her up bridal style and carry her up to our bedroom. We crawl under the covers and she hurries to put her ear against my chest. Slowly she loses up. I rub her back. "Is this what you want?" She asks. "Yes."

"Okay, I guess we're going to be parents then." She said. "But babe, is this what you want? I don't want to force you to have a child just because I want one. I can wait until you're ready."

"What if I'm never ready?" She asks. "Then it's just the way it is. As long as I have you, I'm good." I tell her. "You're too good for me. You deserve someone who treats you better."

"Stop. Don't do that. I don't want anyone else. I want you, I love you with my whole heart Weston." I tell her. "I know. I love you too. I just think I need to let this sink in. This might be my only shot at becoming a mother." I kiss the top of her head and she snuggles closer. "Well, we don't have to decide right now."

"Yeah, I guess." My heart does a happy dance. I know that this gives her anxiety. She's having an internal battle with herself. She thinks she won't be a good mother. She's afraid to commit but I really think that she wants this. She just needs to progress this in her own way first and it might take some time, and I will be here for her in every way she needs me to. She just started to trust me again, and I'm not letting her down. I'll be there every step of the way and pick her up if she falls or breaks.

~WESTON~

Hero didn't know how he should behave when I gave him the test but I saw it in his eyes. He's happy about this. He wants this, and that's basically all I need. If he wants this, I want it and not just to please him. I want this for the same reason that he does. I know he'll be an incredible father. I smile when I picture him with our child in his arms. What a beautiful sight. "Are you happy?" I ask.

"Yes. I really am." He says. "Good."

"How about you?" He asks. "I'm not sure. This scares me shitless but I know that as long as I have you, everything will be okay." I look at him and he puts one finger under my chin and tilts my head up to his. Then he leans into my lips and kisses me softly. He rubs his nose against mine. "We can do this, Weston."

"Yeah, together we are what we can't be alone." I say. "That's right." He kissed me again. "I love you."

"I love you too. For all eternity."

"For all eternity." He says. We kiss and cuddle for a while before we fall asleep.
