These are a bunch of RP rules I pulled from all over to use here. Some are my own rules and some are basic rules for any RP forum.
The rules are simple all that I ask is that everyone
*Be respectful of everyone else's views and opinions.
*Reframe from using hateful words or bullying, it will not be allowed.
*If you have an idea to pitch for the next RP feel free to submit the idea to me nikkilett
*Follow this book and its participants for updates.
*All new members wanting to join in the story must submit the request to me.
Do Not Power-play
Power-playing occurs when a player operates someone's character without the other player's consent. The most blatant example of this would be a player writing, "Your character falls off the cliff when he walks up to it." As you can see, you take active control of what the other character does. Not only is this not fair to the other player, but it's also discouraged because often players will misconstrue the behaviors and personalities of characters they didn't design. Power playing goes into more subtle situations, however.
Do Not Play Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus
A Mary-Sue is a specific kind of character that has a lot of feats and no flaws.
1: No godmodding (ie: being invincible, overpowered, etc.)
2: No controlling other people (Say this one twice)
3: You CANNOT kill another person(s)'s character without their permission
4: You MUST allow the other person to CHOOSE to accept or avoid an attack [Note: there are some exceptions to this rule once you are familiar with the rules and the feel of RP battles, but you must still keep it in moderation; it cannot be a big attack (ie: cutting someone's head off, stabbing their heart or lungs, etc.) and you must allow the other person(s) to do the same.
5: You may not make any moves without giving the other person(s) a chance to do something (this includes running away, teleporting (not blinking), summoning things, banishing the person(s) (and it must be approved by the person(s), etc.)
6. Include Everyone!!!By this, I mean, if you see someone come into an RP don't just ignore them...the point is for all of the characters to interact at some point! Acknowledge each other for Pete's sakes!!! It's an RP find a way to include everyone. I get it is sometimes hard to jump into an RP but there should be an effort to bring others in if possible.
7. Don't make the Plot about you!!!Unless the RP revolves around a certain character in the RP, there is no reason you should take hold of an RP. It causes issues with the other characters and it's rude. For example: Five OCs have a mission to retrieve an item. They are working together and fighting obstacles along the way, however, one OC has suddenly had an issue with law enforcement. Instead of following the plot, this OC turns the plot about them avoiding law enforcement and pulling everyone into this with them. What? Why was that necessary?? That's just you trying to pull the plot about your OC... It for everyone to have fun .
8: You MUST take damage at some point
Literate Rules
1. Don't let it die.
If we can help it and keep it going. if a story is losing its spark we can end that chapter and try a different plot theme.
2. Grammar.
No one is perfect with grammar. I know I'm not. Just reread these rules. Hah, but a few mistakes is okay, but try to keep them low or at least correct them.
3. Match writing pace
Matching can be hard. Sometimes we can only limit or add so much to our post. It just takes practice. But the hardest thing sometimes is containing your post. If you see that everyone is posting drastically smaller posts than you, then try to match the pace .... this is for everyone's enjoyment, right? So try to match.
