"Do you really love Leonard?" Nana asked again
Diana was silent for a while and shook her head negative. "I don't love him" Diana reply expressionless
"What?!" Matt and Nana echo
"You mean it?" Matt asked
"Yes. I mean it" Diana reply
"But Diana, I know you love Leo. Why can't you forgive him? I know you're hurt but please, he wasn't the same Leo. But only you can change him. Leo deserve someone Like you. He deserve happiness, please" matt pleaded
"What? You're saying all this? Okay, it wasn't his fault, what about you? Aren't you birds of the same feathers? Now, Leo has is own reason, what's your own? Huh, answer. Don't preach to me, we are not in the church" Diana hissed
Nana took her hand. "Diana, I know Leonard hurt you so much but if you...look at it, it wasn't his fault. Please forgive him. He was broken. Only you can help him" Nana Pleaded
"Ma'am, with due respect, I can't love Leonard Owen talk less of be his wife. I hate him to the core. He took away my dignity. He raised up his hand and hit me several times. And I can't marry someone that has already hit me before. I don't love him neither will I ever do. I'm going inside ma'am" Diana said and stood up.
She was about to go when she saw Leo at the dining table looking at them with a teary eyes. He walked up to her.
He brought out a white paper, he raise it up and tear it into a pieces. "This is the contract paper. I'm sorry for taking away your dignity. I'm sorry for hitting you. And I'm sorry for forcing you into this contract. Please, forgive me from the bottom of your heart. Now, you're free to go. Whatever wrong I have done to you, forgive me" Leo said and walked back to the room.
Diana was speechless. She doesn't know what to do. Her heart was thumping very fast. Leonard apologize to her. Was he really a nice guy before? She took a slowly steps to the bedroom. She entered the room and saw Leo laying on the bed with his hand under his head. As soon as he saw Diana, he stood up.
"Em...I don't know what to do, maybe I should give you money or what? Coz I don't want you to be thinking that you work as a slut for me. But if you won't mind, this is a cheque of 20million dollars. Please, accept it with love" Leo said stretching out his hand to her. She didn't make any attempt to collect it but Leo took her hand and put the cheque there.
Her heart skipped a bit when Leo touched her. She was crying already. Leo wanted to go but she grabbed his hand. Leo halt and turned to her. She couldn't talk but just crying. Leo smiled and removed her hand from his. "Safe Journey" he said and walked away.
Diana called down and began to cry.
Leo walked downstairs and met Nana and Matt in the living room. "What are you two discussion?" Leo asked in a joking manner
Nana and Matt was surprised. "Leo, are you okay?" Matt asked surprised
leonard narrowed his eyes at him. "What do you mean?" leo asked
"Wait, Diana just said that she doesn't love you and you did not feel bad or something" Matt said
Leo laughed. "You funny" Leo said
"Funny? How? Are you really okay, Leo?" Nana asked also
"Nana, I'm fine. Why should I feel bad? She doesn't love me neither do I. So, what's the essence of me feeling sad" Leo said
"You don't love her?" Nana asked
"I don't love her" Leo answered
"Then why can't you tell her when she asked you I'm the morning?" Matt asked
Leo thought for a while. "I don't know. The word just suck in my mouth then. Enough of this, I'm hungry" Leo said walking to the dining table
Nana and Matt looked at each other. Nana shrugged her shoulder and walked to the dining table, with Matt followed. They sat down and Anna serve them. They was about to eat when Nana talked
"Where's Diana?" Nana asked
"She's in the room"Leo answered
"Go and tell her that the food is ready" Nana said to Anna. She was about to go when Leo word stopped her
"She won't come. So, how about you take her food to the room?" Leo suggested
"Okay, that will be cool" Matt supported
Anna dished out some food and took it upstairs. She met Diana crying on the floor. She quickly put down the food and rushed to her.
"Ma'am, what happened to you" Anna said
Diana hugged her and crying profusely. "I pity him. He wasn't his fault but I don't want to accept that. He hurt me. He took away my dignity. How can they expect me to love him. But I don't want to leave him. I want to help him" she said crying
Anna smiled. "Ma'am, you remember the other day that I told you that, my boss is a good person, that's the reason why I said it. Try to put yourself in my boss shoe, If you were my boss and all that happened to you, what will you do?"
Diana looked at Anna and burst into another tears. "You're right, Anna. You're right" Diana cried
"So, what do you want to do now? Do you want to stay with my boss? Help him to heal his heart. Be there for him. Let him know that not all the girls are the same. To show him that, there's still true love out there, huh?" Anna asked hoping she answer positive
"I have made up my mind, no turning back. I'm going home. I can't live with him. I don't love him. I hate him for hitting me. I don't have anything to do with him ever again in my life" Diana said
Anna nodded in understanding. "You want to took revenge on my boss, you're no other than him. And i know that you love him. Because of what he did to you, you have a broken heart, exactly the thing that happened to him but in a different way. You don't have the spirit of forgiveness. You really suit each other" Anna stood and bowed to her, then walked out, leaving Diana speechless.
