(Takes place in Enchanted Forest, no henry or curse, Emma grows up with her family)
Princess Emma Nolan isn't your typical bratty, self centered, princess. She is kind, loyal, and selfless. However she feels out of place in her world, like she doesn...
It's almost midnight, and my mother was putting the finishing touches on my make up. I am wearing a silver, poofy dress. It has skinnyish straps and dark, silver designs all over it. My hair is up in an elegant bun and I am wearing a silver, sparkly headband. To my suprise my mother didn't force the crown. And I am wearing dark eye shadow, dark red lipstick, and the rest of my make up is neutral colored. When my mom decides I look perfect we head to the double doors.

My father and brother are standing behind the closed doors. We walk up to them and they smile at me. I grin back and they laugh a little. "Wow, you've grown up." My dad says wide eyed, as he scans me from head to toe in awe. "Yeah, I guess so. This doesn't feel real." "I know princess, but alas it is." We both have tears in our eyes, which is rare, as we connect our arms and the ballroom doors open. My mother and Leo walk ahead of us and then we walk down the huge flight of stairs together. I smile at everyone who is clapping and whispering. As soon as we make it to our thrones, which are placed in the center of the room, everyone goes back to mingling. My mother is up talking to her friends and my dad is with her, leaving me alone and bored at my own birthday ball. Many suitors have come and asked me to dance but I politely decline each time. Even Leo is out dancing with women, having a great time. I sigh and sit back. Sometimes I feel like my mom throws these balls for her instead of me. Not that I minded, I just wish I wasn't sucked into an event that wasn't truly about me. I rather be riding my horse or sword fighting with Leo or my dad than this. I've always been more princey I guess you could say. Dresses and make up just aren't what I like to do. I want to see the world, and even make it a better place. Being queen and putting up with all this royal stuff just seems like the only way to do so. Basically to help the world I have to sacrifice my own happiness, I really don't mind doing so it's just I can't help the selfish thoughts that take place in my mind every so often. I become broken from my trance when I see a hand reaching out to me. I glance up and see Leo and laugh. He grins as I take my hand and place it in his. He leads me to the dance floor just as the waltz begins to play. "You looked like you were bored to death." Leo says, we both laugh. "You know how I feel about these." I say with a sigh as we continue dancing. "That I do. But it's your 18th birthday, try to enjoy yourself, will you?" He says innocently. I smile and nod at him. He grins back and we both continue to dance until the song is over. When the song reaches it's end I turn to leave but then someone taps my shoulder. "Leo, I don't want to dance any-" I stop when I turn around and see a strange, dark haired man, instead of Leo. He chuckles at me causing me to turn red from embarrassment. I look down and quickly regain my composure. My forest, green eyes meet his ocean, blue eyes. "I'm sorry I thought you were my brother." I say awkwardly, never losing his eyes. "No need to apologize love, I was just coming over to see if you'd like to dance. You seemed so bored in your throne, and as I made my way over you disappeared." He says nicely. "That's really nice of you, but really I'm fine." I say with a small smile. His eyes change, making him look a little disappointed. "Oh, alright. I guess I'll just-" He starts and then turns away. I have this bad feeling as he slowly starts to walk away, but I shrug it off and chase after him. I tap him on the shoulder when I reach him, and he turns around with a big smile on his face. I couldn't help but smile back at him. "I suppose one more dance can't hurt." I say in a sweet voice. He smiles. "As you wish princess." He grabs my hand and leads me to the middle of the dance floor. "Please call me Emma." I tell him, he nods at me. "As you wish, Emma." Then he winked at me and I smiled. "So what brings you here tonight?" I start, not wanting an awkward tension to form. "I had to see the Princess myself, I've heard many stories." I eye him, confused at what stories people could be spreading. "What stories?" I press as we continue to dance. He chuckles. "Well they say you're a bratty, self-centered princess that isn't fit to rule." My heart shattered at his words. I can't believe people think of me this way. I haven't acted this, way have I? How am I to rule, if the people think so little of me. All the sudden he bursts out laughing and I eye him, again, confused. "You should have seen the look on your face lass." He says still laughing. That's when it hits me, it was a joke. I sigh in relief. "Wow, you really know how to charm a girl." I say, a tint of anger in my voice. His face expressions change from laughing to sympathetic. "Sorry lass, I was only teasing. I never meant to hurt your feelings." He says sincerely. "You didn't, don't even worry about it." I say and I pull away. I walk towards the exit and manage to sneak out the back exit, which leads to the gardens. I sit on the same bench that I sat on yesterday and let my thoughts take over. Why would he say something like that to me? What if he was telling the truth, but covered it up by laughing so he wouldn't hurt my feelings? Do people really think this? Have I caused them to think like this? I get pulled away from my thoughts when I sense someone sit next to me. I look over and it's the strange man I danced with earlier. I sigh and turn away. "Emma, I'm truly sorry." He says. I stay turned away and sigh. "You don't need to apologize, you didn't do anything." I say, not even believing the words that are coming out of my mouth. "No I was out of line when I joked about that." He says sternly. "Really, it's fine." I say, still turned away. "It's obviously not since you won't even look at me." He says, pointing out the obvious. I turned and looked him in the eye, and I saw regret but also a little darkness. "I'm fine, see I'm even looking at you. Can you leave me alone now please." I say and turn away again. He sighs heavily and uses his thumb and index finger, to force me to look at him. "I'm not leaving until I believe you're okay." He says softly. I smile a little, but then pull away from his grasp again. "Just go strange man." I say harshly, trying to sound intimidating. He chuckles. "I have a name you know." He says still laughing. I shrug. "I don't care." I say, still turned away. "That's not very princess like, is it?" He teases. Even though I knew he was teasing, something in my head clicked off and all I felt was rage and pain. I abruptly, stood up and glared at him in the eyes. "I'm so sorry that I'm not princessy enough for you! Would it help if I flirted and talked about how great I am all night?!" I say sarcastically. I roll my eyes and look away from him. He stands up and wraps his arms around me. I quickly push him back a little and slap him in the face. A dark red hand print appears as he softly brushes his fingers along his cheek. "Damn, that's a wicked slap for a princess." He says. I scoff and keep myself turned away. "Touch me again without my permission and you'll face worse." I threaten. He chuckles. "I was hugging you, it looked like you needed it." He says in a soothing voice. I turn and face him, immediately feeling bad for snapping and slapping him. He was just trying to be nice and all I did was push him away. "Oh My God, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you it's just something clicked off in my brain and-" Before I can finish I feel his fingers on my lips, silencing me. I stare at his fingers and then back at him. "It's quite alright love." He says with a smile, he removes his fingers and I stand there stunned by his actions. He sits back down and I sit beside him. "You said you had a name, prove it." I say in a joking tone. He chuckles. Maybe this ball wouldn't end horribly, with me bored and alone. "Killian Jones at your service." He says and bows. I laugh at his childish actions. "Jones, I like it." I comment and he laughs again.
Killian's POV:
"Jones, I like it." She says with a smirk. I laugh at her cute little- I mean little jokes. She's not cute, nope. "Thanks for the approval love." I tease and she laughs. This princess isn't half bad, plus her kindness is making her even more willing to believe my reasoning for being here. She is just too easy. I honestly enjoy talking to her, but it's all a distraction. Mr. Smee has probably already grabbed more then enough food and riches to last us a while. I've just been so caught up in talking to this lass that I didn't realize that it's nearly 2 pm. Emma suddenly stands up and I do the same. "The ball is almost over, I better head back before they notice I'm missing." She sighs and looks at the doors leading back to the ballroom. "Time sure does fly, doesn't it." I comment and she nods in response. Then a thought goes through my head. I could take her to work for me on my ship. She is kind and loving, so she'll probably do anything to protect her family and she seems like a determined lass. It's decided, I am going to kidnap Princess Emma. She starts to walk towards the door, when I grab a handful of powder from my pocket and hold it tightly in my hand. I grab Emma's shoulder and turn her. Then, before she can react, I blow the powder in her face causing her to pass out. I smile and catch her before she falls. When she's in my arms I see Mr. Smee coming out the same doors Emma and I did earlier, probably looking for me. "Smee!" I yell. He looks over and sees me. I walk over to him. "The Princess, really Cap?" He asks with a sigh. I laugh. "You know I love to change it up sometimes." I say with a smirk. "That I do Cap." He says. We manage to sneak away to the Jolly Rodger and I take the princess to a dark room, filled with chains, a small cot, and a boarded up window. I set her down on the cot and chain her wrists and ankles. She wouldn't be able to move much when she wakes. Then I grab a wench dress and lay it at the end of the cot for her to change in. I then leave the room and lock it. I head back on deck and steer the ship away from the Enchanted Forest with their lovely little princess as my prisoner. I smile wickedly at the thought that I was able to easily get a princess from a castle surrounded by guards and with many people inside. We eventually reach enough distance from the kingdom and I have Smee take over while I get some shut eye, for tomorrow will be a long day for Emma and I both.
