I couldn't help but frown, confused at what he was trying to tell me. But then I realized that I stepped on plenty of beautiful ripen cabbages and lettuces. "Oh my- I'm so sorry!"
*sigh* "Can't do nothin' 'bout it now."
"I'll make it up to you! I- I'll work here right now if you pleasee don't tell the official authorities about a farm invader. They can't know I'm here."
"Ha! There ain't no such thing as a farm invader. Besides, you're definitely a city girl. Bet you can't handle the work, Cam."
"Huh?"
"Cam. Your name, ain't it? Written there on your shirt."
"Wha- No! It says CAM-ERA. I like cameras so I had to buy this hoodie."
"Ion see no ERAs."
"Ugh. That there," as I point my finger to the bottom of the logo. "Why's it separated, though?"
"I don't know! I didn't design it." He just stared blankly and made me realize I yelled at the guy I was supposed to be apologizing to. "Sorry."
"Welp, let's talk to Big P about it."
"Who's Big P?"
"Papa, of course. The one who owns the farm. Don't ya know?"
"I thought you knew that I'm not from around here."
"Oh. Right. Come along then."
He led the way deeper into the woods through an old wooden bridge, more woods, crossed a small river, more woods, and to a steep hill. I thought farmers had to live near their crops but I guess not them. "There ya have it. Yates. Population of 1,103."
"Wow. I've never seen a town this small yet so big."
"The mountains make it look like that. Oh and make that population 1,104." I looked at him and shook my head slowly. "You're not staying?" He asked.
"I'm just going to fix what I messed up and move on." He didn't seem to care more to ask me why so he just smiled and continued to walk, I followed.

"Papa!" We arrived at a semi cottage looking house, quite big and barn-like but it's also modern. It's weird.
He, whom I still haven't known the name of, waved to who seems to be his father and the actual owner whose crops I ruined.. and my soon-to-be employer, for a little while. "Hey, Ked!"
Oh, Ked is it? "Who's that ya brought there?" Shouted a girl through a window but then some guy continued with, "Must be his new pet. It's been a while, aye."
"Shut up!" I'm pretty sure he rolled his eyes way back reaching his brain.
"Papa, I brought you someone to do the farming with. Name's Cam."
"It's actually Joann-"
"Welcome, princess! I'm Mr. Sutherland. You don't seem to look the part but we'll get you fixed up with the lessons tomorrow." Oh, brother. These people don't seem normal. "Come on in, come on in." He pushed my back towards the entrance door and into the 'unique' house.
The first room I entered feast my eyes. The walls were made out of woods but mostly rocks. The design was quite modern, though. There's a TV, a big comfortable sofa, potted plants, and a fireplace but no chimneys. Well, the fireplace is outside the room, on the terrace which you could see through a see-through glass door.
These guys must be rich. I thought.
"Sorry about the unpleasant look. We try to be as modern as the neighbors but we can't leave the beautiful architecture of the old cottage as it is from my grandparents, so it became like this," said Mr. Sutherland.
