The volleyballs thumped across the court as Quet walked into the gym. She and asteroid looked at each other nervously before taking there spots for the tryout. Asteroid was a liberal, and Quet, a setter.
"Hi, my names revolutionary," a girl said, shaking their hands before taking her spot.
"Have you been on this team before?" Quet asked kindly. She always faked being nice at first.
"Sure have," she said, "last year was real fun. Fun until that game that is..." she trailed off.
"What game" asteroid asked.
"The game against the Karasuno highschool...." she said shuddering at the thought.
"Who are they?" Quet asked.
The court went silent. Even the coaches turned to stare at Quet.
"What?" She said looking around.
Revolutionary stared at her wide eyed.
"Karasuno??? Only the best volleyball team IN THE WORLD!" She exclaimed.
"Oh lol ok," Quet said, still confused. They couldn't be that good... right?
"ALRIGHT LADIES! LINE UP!" The coach explained. She went on to lead them through a series of different drills and warm ups. After practice was over, Quet found it hard to control her anger. She was mad because she was a setter, but got assigned the role of the spiker, only because she was tall. She approached the coach as soon as the try out was over, trying to remain calm.
"Excuse me?" She said, almost a little too aggressively. She couldn't help it. It was in her blood.
"I'm not that great of a striker... I really shine as a setter," she explained.
"Oh ok," the coach said scribbling something in her notes, "I'll remember that. Have a good day umm..."
"Quet"
"Yes, have a good day Quet," the coach smiled.
Little did Quet know, no one would ever forget her name again.
