In the midst of a warm afternoon in March, [y/n] began a new life that would open a door to a whole new world of emotions that she never knew one could even feel. It all happened to begin when she managed to trip over someone on the stairs.
"[y/n]-san, you're literally failing your classes yet you continue to play that game anytime you get the chance." The brunette male chastised, scolding his closest friend who was hooked on a game that was starting to cause her grades to slip. It wasn't necessarily the games fault but it was the fact that she had stopped studying and doing her homework because of how much she plays the game on the daily. Iwata Keisuke was one of her only friends who really cared for her despite her obsession with this dumb game. "You need to cut back on the games and start focusing on more important things. Like the fact that you're failing."
"Keisuke, you're too concerned. My grades are fine, just a little lower than usual as all." [y/n] shot back, grunting under her breath when her game crashed once again. It was beginning to happen more often with her weak ass phone that could barely handle a game that took up this much storage. "My phone's getting hot."
"Because that game takes up so much storage that your phone can't handle it. You should let it cool down and play later." Keisuke pointed out, sighing when [y/n] disregarded his statement completely and opened up the game to play again. "You never learn, do you?"
"Nope." Her lips turned upwards into a smile when the game quickly loaded up and she was able to return to the unfinished quests she had been doing prior to the crash.
"Hey, be careful. Watch where you're going before you eat shit down the stairs." Keisuke called out, putting his arms out to catch her if she actually did happen to fall. He seemed more like a doting parent rather than a friend to her with the amount of times he nagged her about trivial things.
[y/n] shrugged and muttered, "I'll be fine, Keisuke. You should worry more about your hair. Did you forget to brush it this morning?" With her head turned in his direction, she failed to notice the male who had attempted to climb the stairs that she descended down. Her question quickly flew over Keisuke's head as he watched the very scene he wished to avoid begin to unfold. Her poor focus on where she was walking led her bumping into the guy's chest, throwing off his balance he had placed in his feet.
He watched in horror as the two fell towards the floor, landing with a rather loud thud and a few yelps that fell from the girl's lips. If he hadn't been young and healthy, Keisuke surely would have had a heart attack on the spot and died.
"Be carefu-!" Keisuke shouted, letting it a breath of relief when he saw her laying on the unfortunate white haired male who had broken her fall. Luckily, they weren't too far up the stairs to injure themselves badly other than maybe a bruise or two on their arms. "Fucking shit, [y/n]...I told you not to game and walk!"
[y/n] chose to tune out the male who scolded her incessantly and took her time to check on the male beneath her. She scrambled off of his body, repeatedly apologizing. "Oh shit, hello, are you okay?"
"Mhmm." The boy hummed blankly, sitting upright once she got off of him. His beautiful teal eyes shifted to the side, spotting the phone that laid on the floor beside his body screen side down. Curiosity took over his body and he found himself picking it up to casually glance at the screen. "Oh. You play Genshin?"
"Yeah, I've been-"
"Slacking off because of that game." Keisuke finished once he reached the bottom of the stairs to stand beside her. He held out a hand to the girl, pulling her up off the floor while the other male got up on his own. His brown eyes looked up at the white haired male who stood up straight and peered in his direction for a moment. He's so damn tall.
"I've been hooked. I can't stop playing because I want to level up all the time." [y/n] admitted openly, unashamed of her blatant obsession with the mobile game. "Aren't you Nagi-kun? Right? We're in the same class, I think."
"We are?" Nagi quirked an eyebrow, trying to recall when he had last seen her face before. In that big ol' brain he had, nothing related to the girl seemed to come to mind. It was unfortunate to be forgotten so easily by a man who was only two seats behind you.
She nodded with a small shrug. "I think I remember my seat mate talking about you. You're really tall so it's kind of hard to miss you."
"Ah, true." He blankly stared down at her, unsure of what to do next now that the conversation had somewhat reached an end. There was nothing else to really say since they had gone over everything that was necessary. Amused with the entire exchange, she chuckled and held out a hand for her phone in which he placed it in.
"You should add me. We can play Genshin if or whenever you're bored." [y/n] said as she pulled out a small post it note, scribbling her UID and user on it and handing it to him. Her handwriting was legible for once, making it very easy to read and understand. "Just add me or, uh, don't? It's up to you."
Nagi accepted the piece of paper, peering down at the UID and username that was quite unusual to say the least. Nonetheless, he tucked it into his pocket and saved it for later because it couldn't hurt to add a new friend on the game he had been grinding on recently.
"Oh, and," [y/n] turned around, pointing a finger at Nagi with a small taunting smile dancing on her lips. "Your team better not suck or else I'm gonna have to remove your sorry ass."
Nagi nodded, "Yes, ma'am." He called out half heartedly, turning away from the female who chuckled and began walking away with Keisuke at her side. His curious blue eyes glanced back at her before he continued up the stairs, walking off to his destination at the very top of the stairs. I never caught her name.
"Goodbye. I'm gonna go jump off the roof." [y/n] muttered flatly as she abruptly turned around to make her way up to the rooftop, surprising Keisuke who caught her by the arm in a hurry. His eyes filled with worry as he eyed her sullen expression.
"What? Why?"
She flashed him her phone screen. In the right corner, it was slightly cracked from where it had fell. It wasn't bad enough to affect gaming or using the phone in general, but the devastation of her baby cracking after having it for so long was too much to bear. "Betrayal. One fall and she shatters like glass."
"Well, it is glass."
"Thanks, Kei. I'll keep that in mind next time." She muttered tearfully, wiping the corner of her eyes that had filled with tears from her crying farce.
Keisuke paused for a moment when he saw the girl tuck her phone away, his eyes darting back at the stairs for a split second. "Are you actually gonna play with that guy?" He asked, sighing when she gave him a flat look.
[y/n] shrugged, "Only if he adds me and wants to play. Why?"
Keisuke dragged a hand down his face in exasperation. He wondered if he was supposed to be the one to watch over her when her parents should do it themselves. He scoffed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "You shouldn't give out your information to random guys you don't know."
"Relax, it was just my game ID. Besides, Nagi-kun is my classmate and I doubt he's weird." The female shot back with a smug grin when she saw Keisuke struggle to refute her lousy reasoning. A cackle bubbled in her chest as she turned away from him, holding her arms up as if she was celebrating a victory. "It's alright, Keisuke! Relax."
She strolled down the wall with a small sigh, glancing back at Keisuke who was busy muttering something under his breath about her being a handful "What if he's kind of a pro? My friends are shit, so if he's good then it'll really make things exciting, don't you think?"
He shook his head. "I think it'll end up becoming messy."
"Ehh, we'll see."
