Chapter 7 - Invitations and shopping

I got back to the office about 14.15 and went behind the desk to finish my assignments for today. I opened my email and saw that I had about 10 clients I needed to answer, one from my dad and one from Jack. I opened Jacks first.

" Miss Amanda Holmes is getting the job. The plan is that you will be teaching her how it's done, starting Monday. Could you be so kind and call her and tell her the news. Sincerely Jack Abbot." Great, I put in a reminder in my phone to call her after I finished with the emails. I then opened my dads email and it looked like he had passed on an email that he got and put in a note himself. "I've called your mother and you two can go shopping tonight, Dad" I opened the email he passed to me and saw an invitation. "Hello Mr. Ersson. Welcome to Malibu! We would like to invite you and your company to our fundraiser Saturday, July the 20th, starts at 19 with mingling then a bit of information from us. Sincerely, Monica Humphrey, ACS" I opened my calendar and saw that July 20th was tomorrow. I looked at the email again and I saw that my dad got it the day we got here, over a week ago. I decided not to answer my dads email, but to answer Jack.

"Great news, I'll call her right away. Have a nice weekend. Sarah Ersson" Most of the personal ended their days at 14 on Fridays for some reason. I checked the emails I've gotten from our clients and snared the ones that I needed, when I was done I looked up Amandas phone number and called her.

"This is Amanda" she answered

"Hi Miss Holmes, this is Sarah from Erssons" - Me

"Oh hi" It sounded like she got nervous.

"I'm calling with good news. We want you to work with us, starting Monday" I said and I heard her squeal on the other side of the phone and I laughed.

"Omg thank you so much! Is there anything I need to think about?" - Amanda

"I can send you some information and tips" - Me

"Thank you, you'd be a lifesaver" she said happily

"I'll see you on Monday then, bye" - Me

"Bye" she said and we hung up.

I put in an alarm for tonight at 18 that I should send her an email with information, I wanted to talk to my dad first about what I should tell her, dress codes etc. When I thought about that I sent my mom a text message. "Should we go look at dresses as soon as I get home? Before dinner." Then I looked at the time, 15.20 so packed my things and as I went to my dads office I got an answer "Perfect see you soon - Mum " I smiled and knocked on the door. "Enter" my dad said and I laughed.

"Wow, so formal" - Me

"I'm sorry, I'm stressed about this situation with a client and then the fundraiser gala tomorrow and I don't have clothes and your mother is sending me pictures of ideas and it stresses me out more" he said.

"Well if you pack up and bring this home with you I can help you at home after dinner. Mom and I are going looking for dresses so we can get you a new tie and you have like 300 suits at home already" I said and he sighed and looked up at me then smiled.

"What would I do without you or your mother?" he said and smiled as he got up and started packing his briefcase.

"Probably loose your head" I smirked and my dad just gave me a look before we both laughed.

When we got home my mother greeted us in the hallway right away, shoes on and everything.

"You ready?" - Mum

"Can I go change to more comfortable clothes and shoes first?" I laughed and she nodded.
