The Family Man

One

Taehyung and Jin are walking towards the departures area of the airport.

Jin is holding onto his boyfriends hand like his life depends on it. He wants to be a supportive boyfriend and encourage his dreams, but he is leaving him for 12 long months. With no idea when he will see him again.

Taehyung is hesitant and unsure if he's doing the right thing by leaving the man he loves.

But this internship in London is a tremendous opportunity and it could help him land an amazing job once it's over.

And he really needs a good job, so he can propose to his beloved and be able to buy him whatever he wants. They could then get married, buy a house and start a family. Just like they've talked about so many love filled nights.

As they get nearer to the gate, Tae notices how tightly Jin is holding onto his hand. So he stops and he faces Jin as he holds his hands.

"Babe, are you ok? You're shaking."

He then holds onto Jin's cheek and looks into his eyes. He can feel how badly Jin is shaking and his eyes are full of tears, which fall once Jin blinks continuously.

"I.. I'm just scared what will happen to us if you go away for so long. It's twelve months Tae. Won't you miss me?"

Tae chuckles to try to put him at ease, and tells him, "I'm not worried. Because I know how much we love each other. And no amount of distance will keep us apart. I have faith in the strength of our love and that it can overcome anything. Please don't lose your faith in us baby, cause when I return to you, I will be a different and better man for you."

"But I don't want a different man, I love you just as you are." Jin cries out.

They then hear his flight number being called.

"I have to go baby. Please be strong and I will see you in twelve months. Don't forget I love you."

Jin grabs onto his shirt and cries into it as he whispers, "Please don't go Tae. I have a bad feeling that you will never return to me. Please. Please don't leave me."

Taehyung's heart breaks as he listens to his pleas. He then grabs Jin's hands and pulls them off his shirt.

"Jinnie, sweetheart, I will return to you. Please understand that I'm doing this for us. So I can give you everything your heart desires."

Jin then tells him, "I don't care about material things. All I want is you. That's all."

The final call for his flight snaps Tae out of his thoughts.

"Kiss me babe, I've got to go."

Jin then kisses him deeply and then watches as Tae grabs his suitcases and then waves goodbye to him. He watches him until he is completely out of sight.

And he whispers 'Goodbye forever my love'.

He then walks out to his car and falls apart. The sound of his phone ringing a few minutes later reminds him that he's in a public place. And he immediately wipes his tears and answers the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey, did he actually leave?"

Jin sighs loudly and replies, "Yeah, he did."

"That mother fucker. I can't believe he chose that damn internship over you."

Jin breaks down crying again and hangs up, not wanting to hear a lecture from his best friend. After a few more minutes, he finally starts the car and drives home.
