JAY
A couple of days after

"Hey Jay, I got Kyra on the phone for you," Dale said as he walked into my penthouse.

He was wearing a white Supreme hoodie with some dark grey jeans and a Gucci belt.

"Yo," I said putting her on loudspeaker. "Kyra, this is Jaylen Moses. How you doing?"

The more I thought about what happened, the more it made me feel some type of way. I wasn't dating Kyra or anything and I wanted to make that clear to everyone out there.

"I'm good," she said flirtatiously. "What's up with you?"

I sat on the arm of my white leather couch watching out the window. It looked good out as usual during the day. Might go out later and grab some late lunch or something.

"Nothing much just wanted to call to talk to you about what's been on the Shade Room and People's Magazine and stuff. What's that about?"

"I-I just wanted to post something on my channel and I thought that was going to be a good idea," she said stuttering.

I sighed.

"I'm not gonna get in any legal trouble right?" she asked sounding worried.

Dale shook his head to say no when I looked up at him.

"Nah, you're good. I just wanted to address those rumors though that's been going around about us dating. If you can help me do that before I make an official statement that would be highly appreciated. I feel as though if I were to say something it may put you in a bad light you feel me?"

"Understood," she said.

"Cool. Hope your senior year is good. Bye-"

She cut me off.

"Hey, is that really it for us?" she asked. "I know we decided to just have a one night stand, but I've been learning more about you and I wanted to get to know you better...maybe go on a few dates if you ever come over this way."

Dale's eyes widen and he smiled hard. I didn't want to break her heart or none, but I rather be honest than pretend cause that could cause her to get hurt in the end anyway.

"I ain't really planning to date or anything right now. Sorry Kyra," I said.

Dale immediately shook his head and lost the smile.

"It's cool, I know you in the NBA and got a lot of girls around you and stuff, but you're still welcome to hit my line if anything," she said.

"Alright, thanks."

"Bye Jay."

"Bye Kyra."

I cut the phone off.

"She got feelings for you man!" Dale clapped falling back on the couch next to where I sat.

"I know man, but if it ain't Kayla, then it's not for me."

Dale playfully rolled his eyes and rested his hand on his chest.

"You still thinking about Kayla, Jay?"

"Always. If not her, I rather wait than jump into a committed relationship right now."

I got up off the seat and walked into the kitchen to grab a smoothie from the fridge. Dale turned on the TV.

"What about an open relationship? Plus Kyra is fine my nigga," he suggested.

"Nah, I rather stay single man. That open relationship stuff ain't for me."

Dale sucked his teeth, twisting his hair.
