Lucy's p.o.v
As I watched her get on that tramway I crushed down on the waiting bench and sighed.
Did I just do this?
I scratched the back of my head nervously. It's fine. This was what I planned to do anyway. I wanted to spend just one day with her to get her out of my system and go back to work. I don't need any girl in my life. Not a good one, not a bad one. Not a crazy one, not a sweet one. If I even go down that road I will just ruin her life.
So just like every other girl, I will forget her.
It was fun while it lasted.
I walked to the other stop and caught the tramway home. I just hoped the guys found what I asked. I'm going to just work and work.
I pulled out my phone and played some games until I reached my stop.
As I entered the house I could see the boys waiting there for me. They laughed and talked but the moment I was there, it was instant silence.
"So did you find what I asked?" I asked, putting out my hand.
"Yes, it's all here." One of the guys tripped as he handed me the bag.
"Good." I opened the bag and glanced inside then back at them. They all seemed ready to go home. There was one kid I didn't know.
"Who's he?"
"He is my brother." Ace answered. "I need to drive him home."
I stayed silent. I was no longer angry nor had anything left in me to yell at them.
"Then out now. I've told you, you can only be here until six. Today was the only exception. Now scram."
They all left except Ace who stayed behind. "About the guy who broke it..."
"Did you find out who it was?" I crossed my hands.
"I think I know who it is, but I don't want to jump to conclusions without proof." He answered. "I'm so sorry I let this happen man. I know you left me in charge but..."
I sighed. "Ace you're the only one I can lean on to watch my damn equipment. So if you want to keep coming here and learn then get your priorities in order and be more responsible."
He nodded and got out of my house.
I headed to the room where all my computers were and sat down on the ground looking at the parts. Next thing I knew I was swirling them in my hands in a daze.
Her first handholding huh? Ahh, she was so embarrassed. Man was her hand soft and warm. I wonder how she would feel if I had just pressed her against me. I should have just grabbed and kissed her lips right there and then.
My mind started racing. If this could have played out another way...then one day I can take those clothes off her and right here on this floor just..
Why is her innocence so attractive to me? Damn.
No, no,no..I cannot be thinking this right now. Cold shower. Cold shower..
I grabbed my stuff and locked the second floor, going up to my actual living space.
After I jumped into the shower and threw on some clothes afterward, I took a bottle of water and laid on the bed.
God the way she looked at me. Those eyes. Those damn flirty eyes at the coffee shop. She was provoking me whether she knew it or not.
Her eyes man..something about them..
I opened the water bottle taking a few sips and then opened the bookstore bag. I picked up the books she chose for me and decided to read them.
I fixed two pillows behind me. Which one should I start?
Huckleberry huh? I wonder what about him reminded her of me. I knew why I related to him. That goddamn tyrant father of mine.
If anything I felt like Huck had better luck than me. He at least could run away and leave a life of freedom without the police dragging him back to the house.
I praised myself for finding a way to push through high school and earn some money to live alone at the same time without having to lean on my goddamn parents.
I wonder what the cat girl would have said to this. I should have gotten her name.
At the coffee shop, I was sure that a story like mine would drive her off which is why I even suggested that stupid no personal things deal. At the end of the night, I was already in doubt of my opinion of her.
The way she talked.... She seemed more open-minded and strong-willed than I thought.
But no, no,no..Let's be real. My story will mess her up.
Ugh let's just sleep.
I put the books down and the water bottle next to my bed and closed my eyes.
I want to kiss you right now cause I know you would taste like chocolate and it's driving me insane.
My eyes opened wide. Oh god. Did I actually say that to her? What a loser? Oh god. I rubbed my eyes. And tossed the blanket on my other side.
I need to sleep. Forget everything I said, stupid brain. Just sleep.
It was the first time someone had made my heartbeat like that. It felt amazing to not know what to expect from this..
Oh shit. I picked up the pillow and threw it. Did I really just stare at her when she said that? I'm such a fucking idiot. I should have reacted right there and then. Pull her wrist and slam my lips on hers. Run my fingers through her hair.
I just stared like an idiot.
If there was an award for a biggest idiot, I got it tonight.
I wonder if she's thinking about this right now?
Ahhh...this is going to be a long sleepless night.
