The Corpse Groom

Last day.

Virgil was terrified, he woke up earlier and snuck out to the forest once more. He knew his parents would kill him but he couldn't care less, the wedding was tomorrow but he had fallen for a whole different person. He wanted to marry Remus, not Roman..Not roman at all. He was soon just where he wanted to be and started walking towards the town. It seemed nobody was around so he sat at the entrance and waited. Probrably not the best course of action but he could care less right now. It took a few minutes before Virgil got bored and started walking through the town. Someone grabbed him from behind and he whipped around decking whoever it was behind him. The man groaned in pain and before Vigil helped him he studied the man, he was wearing a light blue shirt and a grey coat. Virgil then panicked and helped the man up from the round where he had been for a mere few seconds holding his face.

"I'm so so sorry about that!" Virgil said holding the man steady, the man shook his head and smiled.

"That's alright, anyways. I'm Patton! And you are?" The man now known as Patton asked smiling, Virgil studied his face and noticed he had no reaction to the punch, then he noticed the slight blue tinge to the males skin.

"Oh, uh.. Virgil. My name is Virgil." he stated rubbing the back of his neck with a small chuckle. Patton giggled.

"Poision." the man stated, his smile never left and it was a bit eerie.

"I'm sorry?" Virgil asked confused by the word. What was Patton suggesting?

"Poision." He repeated. "Somebody poisoned me and I died soon after, I noticed you looking." he said, giggling. Virgil eyes widened slightly.

"Oh! sorry, You confused me-" He laughed. They talked for a while after that and Virgil let slip that he was waiting for Remus. Patton's eyes widened and he stopped.

"Remus?" He asked stunned. "Remus's never let's humans live after he meets them.." He mumbled, Patton didn't look scarred, he looked surprised. Virgil, however, was confused.

"Doesn't let them live? Remus doesn't seem like the kind of person to kill others for no reason but because they are human." Virgil said. he heard a whistle behind him and he turned realizing people were out now and Remus was being him.

"I see you've met Patton?" Remus said." Patton smiled at him and Remus smiled back.

"Yea, can I speak to you in private actually?" Virgil asked looking at Remus. They went off into the trees.

"The wedding is tommorow. Virgil said Remus's eyes widened. "Remus, I'm scared, I don't know what to do." He said again, His voice was calm, as was his expressions but Remus knew he was panicking.

"He's going to kill you on your wedding night." Remus stated flatly. Virgil's eyes widened. "He..what??" He said feeling his breathing pick up. It was never death that he was afraid of, It was dying that scared him.

"He does it to everyone he marries, and when he can't he locks them up and uses some kind of mind tricks to force them into slavery. I would know. I had to guard their cages." Remus sighed. he wasn't proud of It but there was no use hiding from it. Being dead was better than having to stand still and look off into their distance while listening to their pained screams in the background.

Virgil was frozen. he had though of things like this but never had he even imagined that they could actually be true.
