Where do YOU see Devin and Beau's journey taking them?

These questions are complicated because the realist in me says to answer honestly; they broke up. But the romantic in me wants to scream that they live happily ever after. I don't really know, but if I sit and think about it, I think they'd break up once or twice during their long distance relationship, but ultimately get back together and stay together. It'd be a bumpy road, but with everything they've gone through, I think they'll pull through.

Did the long distance relationship work? Where are they now?

Like I said above, they work out. Once Beau is done with college he'll come back home. I think they'd both move to a more city-like area though, some place where they're more accepted or feel more comfortable.

Have the moms already guessed what's going on between their sons?

Ooooh, I will do my best not to go into lecturing mode since I know this is meant as an innocent question lol However! Parents definitely shouldn't make assumptions about their children, especially pertaining to gender identities or sexuality. These are topics that people need to figure out and, even with absolutely loving and supportive parents, it can be terrifying and incredibly hard to deal with. Long story short, their parents (not just their mom's) are aware that something is changing between Beau and Devin, what it is, they are not sure and they will not assume. None of them will pressure their kids to talk, only wait and support them should the time come when they are ready to talk.

How did telling their parents go?

They're happy and slightly concerned. They live in a small town where their sons may not be as accepted, but as long as Beau and Devin are safe and happy, then they're happy too!

Has Devin remained in touch with Anthony through the years given their revelation to Devin in the park?

I think they'd keep in touch as the years went on, but life happens so they probably wouldn't be as close as they were as teenagers.

How did Devin's other friends take to the news of Devin being demisexual and Anthony being non-binary?

Gwen and Niel would be fine with it. Niel would probably need more explaining since he definitely has no idea what demisexual is or fully understands what it is to be non-binary, but he'd respect it and learn as time went by. Gwen is laidback so she'd probably just say "cool," and act like usual lol

Does Anthony change their name?

No.

When did Beau first realize his feelings for Devin?

Puberty lol Beau has always had a crush on Devin, that's why he's always taken care of him even when they argued. As they got older, Beau's feelings only grew. I tried to hint that Beau and his boyfriend broke up because of Devin by Beau simply stating "we didn't work out." They didn't work out because Beau's always liked someone else; Devin.

Will there be a chapter from Beau's P.O.V.?

Nope.

How did you come up with the idea for this story?

I've mentioned a few times before that this story is based on my vacation, so there's that lol All the places they visited, I visited on my vacation (pre-COVID, obviously.) As for Beau and Devin, I just wanted some enemies to lovers again and I went from there.

Which was your favorite chapter to write? And was it the easiest or the most complicated?

The first kiss scene at the bunker by the sea! Oh my god, I was dyyyyyyying to write that. Usually the chapters I like most are the hardest to write since I want it to be perfect! I don't know why, but I was super proud as soon as I wrote it and loved that moment of vulnerability and silent admission between the boys ^^

Will you ever make another chapter showing us where they are and how they're doing?

Nah, that kind of goes against the whole ending lol it's open ended so you can envision their future however you wish.

How do you plan out your characters? How did you get the idea for Devin and Beau?

Honestly, there wasn't a lot of planning for this story. Since it was based on my vacation, I already had all the spots picked and I knew I wanted enemies to lovers. All I really had written about them was their names, ages, and some interests, like Beau and photography and Devin being a bit of a scatter brain. The details about them came as I wrote and I just made notes to remember later. This time around, there wasn't anything special since it was a spontaneous decision to write and a short story lol

You write many romance stories, how do you manage to avoid writing the same kind of characters? What's your strategy to come up with new personalities and such?

For longer and more thought out stories, I make detailed character sheets by asking myself questions about them. What is their backstory? What is their goal? What are their fears? How do they shape the character's personality?

Our personalities are formed through many different aspects of our lives; our parents, our environment, our peers, our experiences, etc. We react differently to them, so based on all that and our reactions, how does this make a character? Why did they go this route in life? Stuff like that!

Can you tell us something about your new projects?

Hmm, I can't say too much since they're still in the works. However, I hope to have a Tapas premium novel coming out sometime in February (possibly sooner, fingers crossed!) It will be a romantic fantasy and, some may not be happy with this but whatever, it's straight romance. Will there be queer characters? Obviously lol But I hope you guys will give it a try when it releases. It has been so much fun to write so I can't wait for everyone to finally read it ^_^
