Cold. You have never felt real cold unless you live in New York.

As I walk down the sidewalk towards my new apartment, I feel the cold eating away at my skin. When I get inside, I go straight to the table towards my laptop on the hunt for a new job, not forgetting to crank up the heater. This move is not what I expected.

The first publishing industry I see pop up is an corporation called Styles Inc. I call to make an appointment to apply for a postition at this publishing place, hopefully.

The phone rings three times, then a women with a monotone voice picks up the phone. " Styles Inc, how may I help you."

"Yes, my name is Allison Grey, and I would like to make an appointment to apply for a new job," I say as I cross my fingers in hope that I get lucky. The monotone voice again answers with a slightly sarcastic tone, " Lucky you, we have one new opening as an assistant. The last girl quit."

Curiously, I ask her, " May I ask why she quit?" The receptionist replies with a snide remark and a, " Do you want the job or not?"

I roll my eyes eventhough she can't see me, and I reply with a quick yes. She asks for my name and email, then ends the call with an, " I will email you the details on your first day of work, please respond with your resume." At least she said please..

I quickly get ready for bed, as my email alert on my phone goes off.

Please report to Styles Inc at 7:40 am sharp, Monday morning. Don't be late.

I look at the clock sitting at the stand next to my bed, reading 11:04. I better get to bed or else I wouldn't want to get up in the morning.
