"Mew! Mew!" it cried again. The dark orange tabby's ears pricked up in surprise. It's that kit again he thought. He padded towards the soft meow; his heartbeat was so loud, he thought that was the sound that broke the silence of the forest. "Mew!" he knew that the kit was mewling with pain. The leaves underneath him crackled as he ran. The mew started getting louder, he was near!It was still meowing. But as he took a look at the kit, he jumped in shock. His heart started beating faster and faster, terrified. He took a step back, his paws shaking. He ran behind a tree and peeked out cautiously. He then approached the body and the kits, being careful to go silently. The kit was covered in blood, a silver she-cat on the ground blood splattered. Her eyes ripped out and on the ground, blood spewing from her mouth. This was a horrible sight, the dark ginger tom's heart kept beating faster in fear. Whoever has done this should pay! He thought in fury. But he was glad the kit was alive. It was just born! The ginger tom held the kit's scruff in his jaws, his pelt bristled at the image of the silver she-cat in his mind. He shaked his head to clear his thoughts and started heading towards MallowClan camp.
