*Five spacial jumps into the future*

"I'm not ready my ass" he mumbles before jumping again going further.

He looks around to see he's in town still but it's now snowing. He jumps one more time before looking around and seeing the town on fire, burnt, and destroyed. He looks around confused and scared, not knowing what's happening. He runs back to try and find the academy. Only to find it destroyed and on fire.

"Vanya!? Ben?! Y/n?! Dad?!" He yells

"Anyone?!" He yells in fear, only to have silence answer him.

He tries to spacial jump again only for it to not work.

"Come on!"

He continues to try, still with no luck. He eventually stops and looks around. He falls on his knees in front of the academy with a look of sorrow and regret across his face.

*End of flashback*

Y/N pov:

"I survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find. " he tells me and Vanya, both of us looking at him in curiosity.

He laughs to himself.

"You know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life? Well it's total bullshit." Vanya looks at him with a sad look.

"I can't even imagine what that must have been like." She says with sorrow

"You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die. So we adapted. Whatever the world threw at us we found a way to overcome it."

"We?"

"You got anything stronger?"

Vanya pours him another cup, and she just looks at him. I look at them both back and forth as the speak.

"You think I'm crazy" he says

"No, it's just- a lot to take in"

"What exactly don't you understand?"

"Why didn't you just time travel back?"

"Gee wish I thought of that! Time travel is a crap shoot. I went into the ice and never acorned. You don't think I didn't try everything to try and get back to my family? To make that promise up to Y/n?" He says sarcastically and with sorrow laced towards the end.

"If you grew old there, you know in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?"

"I told you already. I must have gotten the equations wrong!"

"I mean dad always used to say that Time Travel could mess up your mind. Maybe, that's what happened?"

"This was a mistake, " he sets his glass down
"you're too young, too naive," he grabs his things and points at me then the door.
"You need to understand"

"Five!" Vanya yells at him multiple times as he walks to the door.

"Wait," she says and he stops in his tracks.

"I haven't seen you both in a long time, and I don't want to lose you guys again. That's all. You know it's getting late, I have lessons early in the morning, and it's late, I need to sleep, and I'm sure you do too. Here." She stands a puts a blanket on the couch.

"We'll talk more in the morning I promise. Goodnight." Then Vanya walked off to bed.

Me and Five stood in silence till he broke it.
