Here We Go Again

Everything just stops the moment he sees her. The wind coming through the window howls in his ear like the swirling storm he kept inside for 10 years.

10 years, 120 months, 521 weeks, 3652 days, 87,648 hours, 5,258,880 minutes, 315,532,800 seconds he waited for her. He waited for her to come back but she never came & here she is, just in front of him on the day he's gonna be someone else's forever,  his wedding day.

Olive Cordal was so much blank & lost after Emma Jones's disappearance that he doesn't remember anything after the day till two years of that incident. When suddenly he came back to sense he thought he's still in school & Emma's with him but his parents told him about her being lost. 

He looked for her though & that's why when even Emma's parents did nothing, he searched for her in places, countries & where not. When he couldn't find her, he waited for her for years & finally 3 months ago he was convinced she isn't gonna come & today, at his wedding, she's standing right in front of him.

"So, why are you here now?" Olive asks. The first drop of rain falling from his eyes.

Emma's looking at him with her blood-red brown eyes. Her brown hair is in mess like always. She says with trembling lips "We have some unfinished business, remember? You're moving on without doing that?"

"Today is my wedding, Emma." Olive shuts his eyes.

"It could be our wedding if they had stopped. I wouldn't have been lost if they had stopped. You wouldn't have to wait for me for 10 years instead we could've been together. Don't you want justice, Olive? For me, for you, for us?" Emma looks in hope.

"Emma, I..." A knock on the door stops Olive.

Olive glances at Emma for a while thinking about what he should do. There's a knock again & he decides to open the door at a 10-degree angle.

"Hey, it's time. Let's go" his best man & brother, Ben says.

"Give me a minute." He says neutrally & closes the door.

When he looks behind Emma is nowhere. Knock on the door continues & he opens the door.

"Are you changing your mind?" Ben asks fearfully. Olive doesn't say anything.

"You can't do that now. You know how messed up we all were because of your Emma. It took you 10 years to recover, it took everything from us & now when the family's getting some relief you can't decide to be stuck again? Think of the girl who's ready to spend her whole life with you & let's go!" Ben scolds him. Olive looks at him with eyes full of emotions but Ben stays strong, "Now! Let's go!"

Olive nods & starts to go with Ben.

Olive is silently standing in front of the priest but who in this room knows about the menacing storm behind his silence. When the bride arrives, everything blurs for him & all of a sudden he sees Emma as the bride. Olive's stone-like face suddenly melts & a smile occurs on it. He's living the dream, he dreamt 10 years ago & never shared it with anyone. Emma's wearing the same white gown with the smile & veil from his dream. But when she comes closer his vision becomes blurrier & after her being close enough the structure turns into his fiancee, Amy. The ceremony starts.

Olive spots Emma at the entrance of the church behind 100 people. "Don't you wanna finish the unfinished business?" a whisper echoes in his ear. Everything from 10 years ago flashes in front of his eyes.

"Mr. Olive Cordal?" the priest calls him for the 4th time. "Do you take Amy Bloom as your wife?"

Olive looks at the girl he met 3 months ago settled up & forced to marry by his family. She's a nice girl but afraid of the world. That's why she had to date Olive for 3 months even though she wasn't interested & marry him today because it's her family's will. Even though she's a mature grown-up she can't make decisions for herself.
