"Mom, dad. What's hogwarts? Who's Dumbledore and McGonagal? I'm not actually a witch? Am I? Do they exist?"

I begin to get all panicky. Mom and dad take me into the living room and make me sit down. After sending Tim to bed they begin to tell me stuff. They explain that hogwarts is a school. And that witches and wizards are real. And that they are squibs. Which are non magic people born into magical family's. Then they tell me something else. They tell me I'm adopted. Adopted.

Before I'd even begun to process these words I hear someone open the door. "Hello?" My mother and father call in unison. Dad gets up and begins to walk towards the door but he's hardly made it to the hallway when a short man wearing some sort of black cloak steps out into the living room. He's holding some rag looking things in one of his hands and in the other, he holds a long stick. And points it at my dad.

Dad holds his hands up "who are you? Get out of my house" he chokes, sounding terrified. Suddenly my dad is engulfed by green light and he falls to the floor with a thump. My mother screams and I hear Tim start running down the stairs. Another flash of green light and my mother topples over right before my eyes. "Mom!" I hear Tim yell tuning towards her. The man cackles some words and Tim falls to the floor.

I'm to petrified to speak. I'm frozen as I look up into the face of the short man who slowly walks towards me. He has a face that resembles a rat and he laughs at me. He raises the stick.
CRASH.  an old man wearing a midnight blue cloak comes running into the room, he points another of those stick things at the man. But he vanishes before the old man can speak.

Trembling I look up at him. He has a very long beard and hair. Long enough to tuck into his belt and quite dangerous blue eyes behind half moon spectacles. He frowns down at me. A sad expression on his face and mutters something. I feel like my mind has gone blank. Like a chalk board being wiped clean. And then I feel as if I'm sinking. And then I'm falling into a blissful. Peaceful. Beautiful sleep.
