A knock on my door startled me. My body whipped up in bed. I looked at the clock next to me and it showed 3:00 am.

I didn't remember dosing off.

Another knock echoed throughout my bedroom. I let out a sigh and made my way to the door after getting off the bed. I stood there briefly, wiping my face as if there were still traces of tears on my cheeks. I reached for the handle and opened the door with my hand.

Fear took over my body and a gasp slipped through my lips. Standing in the doorway wasn't Kian.

"Miss me?" An older man's voice spoke as he stared down at me with his crystal blue eyes. My eyes locked Nick's face.

"What- How did you find me?" I stumbled backwards, moving away from Nick. He flashed a grin as a response, then strolled into the bedroom. With one reach and push, the door slammed shut behind him, making me jump. I watched as he turned his body and locked the door, not taking his eyes off me.

"It's just you and me, darling." He spoke. "No one's gonna stand in my way this time." My heart skipped a beat. What did he mean? Where was...

"Kian..." I mumbled, glancing down at the floor. I whipped my head up towards my so-called 'birthfather'. "Where's Kian?" I questioned, bravely taking a step forward, but Nick didn't answer. He began walking towards me. "Kian!" I screamed. I stepped backwards again and bumped into the bed frame. "Kian!" I screamed one last time before Nick started laughing, mincingly. His laughter turned demonic.

"He's not gonna come for you, Ariel." He spoke in a sinister tone. He stepped closer to me, leaning forward. "That boyfriend of yours is dead." My body froze. He cracked a smirk. "Like I said, it's just you and me." My lips quivered, but I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my face. I dropped my head, trying to cover up my emotions, but Nick saw right through it.

"Oh, don't cry." He spoke, then reached up to my face. His finger was touch to the touch, sending chills down my spine. "As far as I could tell, he wasn't the best boyfriend." My eyes flickered up to him, then looked past his shoulder to the door. I knew I had to make a run for it. I had one before with him.

As soon as he wasn't looking, I ducked past him and made a run for it. A chuckle escaped his lips as he watched me slam into the door. He made his way over and I unlocked the door and pulled, but it didn't open.

Why wouldn't it open?

"You're not escaping this time." He said, strolling up behind me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and spun me around, slamming my back into the wall. A little whimper escaped my lips. A smirk appeared on his face again as he placed one hand against the wall and the other gripping my upper arm. I stared at him in terror as his grip tightened, his nails digging into my skin.

"What do you want from me?" I whispered. My body was shaking uncontrollably as my eyes glazed downward. His eyes were drawn on me.

His head titled to the side. "You." He answered, in an angry tone. He let go of my arm and reached into his jacket pocket. He ripped out a sliver knife and shivers ran down my spine, seeing dried red blood stains in it. Holding it up in front of my face, he pointed the tip at me. "You sent me to prison." He whispered, then traced the cold tip down my chest towards my stomach. I tried not to look at it. Just kept my eyes on him.

"You- you killed my mom." I choked out, tears streaming down my face. He chuckled, flashing another grin. His eyes glanced down.

"And now I'm gonna kill you." He spoke, then flickered his eyes up to me. His crystal blue eyes suddenly turned black. His arm grabbed a hold of me again- this time drawing blood. He pushed me against the wall, holding me in place.

"No!" I screamed. He stepped closer, his body pressing against mine. I could feel the tip of the knife digging into my skin. My blood ran cold. "Why are you doing this?" I cried out. His body intense up.

"Because..." He growled, his head leaning against mine. "If I can't have you in my life, then no one can." His hand swung back and forth, jamming the knife into my stomach.

I gasped, bending over as he twisted the blade inside me. Ripping it out, blood drew from the wound, quickly covering my shirt. My eyes glanced down as my hand touched my stomach, then pulled back. My lips quivered; my hands covered in my own blood. My body ran cold, and I started feeling lightheaded.

Before I could grab onto anything, I fell to the ground, laying on my side. Everything became blurry. My eyes flickered up at Nick as he walked over, hovering over me. He leaned down over to me and whispered.

"Say hello to your mother for me." With that, my eyes closed, and everything went black.
