Chapter 1

Two dark figures wandered into the night with no goal,the female holding a sleeping 2 year old
"Please tell me it isn't true Matthew..."
The woman sobbed staring at her sleeping daughter

"Sage..."
His breath hitched as he stared into his wife's fear filled eyes

"Please tell me Lily and James are alive..."
She continued not being able to contain her tears any longer
She broke down,burying herself into her husband's chest making sure their daughter was safe

Matthew didn't know what to tell Sage
What could he tell her?
That her brother-in-law is dead?
That her best friend is dead?
That her nephew is stuck with muggles that despise witchcraft and wizarding?

"It isn't safe anymore Sage..."
He ran his hand through the former Slytherin's black hair trying to comfort her,even though he knew he wouldn't be much help

Sage looked up at the former Hufflepuff,her eyes red
"We're going to need to leave her...aren't we Matthew?"
She couldn't bare the truth

Matthew felt his own eyes water
"I don't want to either Sage..."

Sage collapsed to the ground her breath jumping
She buried her head into her toddlers chest,waking her up

"Mama?"
The hazel eyed wonder stared at her mother in concern

"Oh Abigail..."
The former Slytherin smiled through teary eyes

Abigail made grabby hands towards her father who was now sitting beside the mother
"Baba?"

"We love you Abbie...so so much"
Matthew held the girl tight,booping her nose making her giggle her angelic giggle

"Why do we have to leave her..."
Sage mused aloud,even though she already knew the answer

"We're the dark lord's next target love..."
The brown haired male told his wife as they stood up,trying to make the little wonder sleep again
"He's bound to be looking for all three of us."

Sage made a face of disgust
"I am utterly disappointed to be related to the arse"

Matthew squeezed her shoulder and sat down on a bench
"You think we'll ever see her again?"

Sage winced
She truly had no clue
"We have to try..."
Was all she could say

"We have to place her somewhere..."
The woman said getting ready to departure 

"Right..."
Matthew said starting to cry again as his wife transfigured a worm into a baby crib

Putting the sleeping toddler in the mini crib, he stood up not being able to take it anymore

Sage pushed her short faded purple hair out of her eyes and gave Matthew a side hug while sniffing
"We'll see her again...we'll be a family."
She said even though it sounded as if she was trying to convince herself more then her husband

"I promised I wouldn't abandon her like he abandoned you..."
Matthew used his robe sleeve to wipe the single tear that escaped his eye

"And you didn't! It's something we have to do..."

The male just sighed and pushed the baby blanket under his daughters neck
He kissed the triangle-circle scar on her neck carefully as the mother hugged her daughter for the last time in a long time.

"We love you Abbie"
Were the last words said to the girl,as they both pulled out their wands and apparated away...

*SQUEALING*
