.:. Okay... so you know how I said I won't be uploading on this for a while? Ya... well... I might have fibbed. This story has gotten over a hundred reads and I've only had two uploads so I'm guessing you silent readers out there like this story somewhat. I may or may not be uploading after this one though. I wanted to leave it as a cliff hanger before putting it on hold .:.
Chapter 3
"Well this is your room," the prince says shrugging a little. I step inside and gasp. I thought my old room was great, but it's nothing compared to this. A silver chandelier with teardrop gems hangs from the middle of ceiling over a hard white floor. The ceiling itself has pictures of angels blowing through trumpets. The walls are a dark blue with silver border. A large white frame bed with a teal color comforter and huge pillows are pushed up against one of the said walls and another wall is a giant white wood bookcase. The wall adjacent to the door has wooden doors that I suppose go out to a balcony. "So, that door," he says as he points to a white door to the right, "leads you to my room." He points to a door on the left, "That door leads you into a large gym, and the other door beside it leads you into a closet which has a door that leads you into a bathroom." I nod my head numbly. "I'll leave you to unpack," he says and nods. I nod back at him as he closes the heavy white door. I run over to the balcony doors and throw them open stepping out onto a large balcony overlooking a garden. I take in deep breaths of the flower-perfumed air and look lovingly down at the land that expands beneath me. The sun is lazily setting over a distant hill and night creatures are beginning to stir as some flowers shut and others open.
I sigh and enter back into my room looking around at the bare room. It needs some decoration. I snap my fingers and my entire luggage appears in front of me making me chuckle. The poor person carrying up to my room probably is confused. That's another day though, right now I feel like going out for a run.
I go over to the walk-in closet and sigh happily looking at the bare racks. I suppose they did some research before hiring me, because on the opposite rack are different cloth patterns and threads for me to choose from. A manikin sits in front of the racks and a vanity lies just beyond that. I see another door leading into the bathroom. I close my eyes and mumble a few words. After a few seconds, I hear a satisfying pop and I open my eyes to see that all of my clothes are on the once bare rack. I smile and take off some black shorts, a green tank top, and a thing blue jacket before changing into them. I go over to the vanity and pull my curly hair into a ponytail before exiting the closet. I rummage through one of my bags before taking out my white tennis shoes.
I walk over to the door that leads into the prince's room and knock on it softly. "Come in," his voice calls from the other side. I grasp the bronze knob and turn it before walking into his room.
"I'm going for a run prince," I say as I walk into his surprisingly messy room. "Do you need me to send a maid up?" I call out not able to find him anywhere. I look around to see clothes ripped and tattered littering the floor. I glance over at a small table and am surprised to see a strange purple and black rose in a crystal vase. I pick up a torn polo and look at it strangely. How was it torn like this? It looks like claws ripped apart. I drop it softly and straighten my posture while looking around the room suspiciously. Something or someone is in here, and it's not human.
"No, there's no need," he calls out from my right. I jump a little and turn towards the sound just to see a dark shadow past between the window.
"Prince, hide," I hiss under my breath while moving towards the way the shadow went. I look around and pick up a wooden staff that was lying conveniently on the ground. I hear shuffling from the corner and raise the staff to hold it more securely in front of me. It makes a move towards me and I immediately hit it behind the knees bringing it down to the ground. I twirl the staff in the air before settling it on the creature's hairy throat with disgust. The creature is wearing scraps of the prince's outfit over its hairy body. Its face is like a bear in size but it has fangs coming out of its mouth like a jaguar. In all my life, I've never seen something as horrid as this. It breaths through its large nostrils making me pull my upper lip up in disgust.
"Who or what are you, why are you here?" I ask in a demanding voice. All the creature does is close its eyes even tighter. "Speak or else I'll kill you," I warn it while prodding its throat harder making it wince. He opens its sea-green eyes making me gasp. They're the same eyes as the prince. I glare at it menacingly. "What did you do to the prince," I hiss under my breath while squeezing the staff so hard I hear the wood groan in protest.
"I am the prince," he says in the prince's voice. I look down at it in hatred. First day on the job and I already let the prince be eaten by this-this thing, just lovely!
"I'll give you one more chance to tell me the truth. What, did you, do with the prince," I say while grinding my teeth together. The creature sighed rolling its eyes in a humanly gesture. I blink in surprise; it shouldn't be able to do that.
"Look, I am telling the truth," he says while staring me in the eye. I lift up the staff while glaring at the creature below me.
"Wrong answer," I say and swing the staff down towards the creature's furry head. Right when the staff is about to hit it, the staff disappears from under my hands. I automatically back flip backwards so I can see both of my adversaries. I stop in mid kick when I see who took the staff out of my hands. I quickly get down on one of my knees while watching the creature from my peripherals.
"Your highness," I say to the king. "I'm sorry; I didn't know that this creature would be in here. It seems that it ate your son," I say angrily.
"Stand Lucille," the king orders and I gulp. I stand up on shaky legs and look at the king waiting for the death sentence I know is going to come. I look down at the floor making sure that I can still see the monster lying on the floor. "That is my son," he says pointing to the beast lying on the ground. I look up shock.
"How though, he's a beast!" I say flabbergasted while pointing accusingly at the monster lying on the ground. The king shakes his head while pointing to a scratched up sofa.
"Sit and I'll tell the story of how my son became a beast," he says and I nod. I toss the staff to the side and walk carefully over to the couch all the while eyeing the thing lying on the ground. "Sit up son," the king demands and the beast sits up slowly as if not to scare me. I swat a few items off the ripped up, blue couch before sitting on it carefully. The king takes in a deep breath and looks at me before telling me a tale that will change my life forever.
.:. Yes, I am using the idea of Beauty and the Beast. Before you exit though, let me tell you this, it will not I REPEAT will not be like the movie/story at all... well it will be... kind of... but kind of not... ya, that's confusing but no. Ya... I"ll be quiet now. All I"m asking is for you guys to give this a shot. Sorry if this was crude, I typed this within twenty minutes and didn't go back to edit it! Another thing, they do where ball gowns/dresses most of the time, but they also where normal clothing to like jeans and shorts and what not .:.
