I wake up. I'm in the back of my mom's car. My little brother Peter is sitting next to me playing super smash bros on his Nintendo switch. My mother Helen is driving the car with my older sister Olivia next to her sitting on her phone. I feel rumbles coming from the car. I feel each bump and each turn. I reach into my pocket for my phone. I pull it out and check the time. 10:30? Am? Wow. I have been asleep for a while. We left the house about 5 hours ago. Why are we on such a long trip you may ask? Well, me and my family have been wanting to move houses for awhile. Our house is old, and the walls were very thin. You could hear someone talking in the next room over. The house only had 2 rooms, so me and my siblings would have to share while my mother got her own. The room was a pastel yellow room with dark wood floors. Me and my little brother slept on a bunkbed with me on the top and him on the bottom. My sister got her own twin sized bed which made me and my little brother jealous. I felt the car slow down and looked out the windshield. There was a big brown brick house that we had just pulled into. There were some fresh green plants in front of the house and the house itself looked ancient.
"Alright kids! Were here!" My mother shouted.
Peter, excited shouting exclaimed: "Yay! I want to see our new bedroom! Its gonna be so cool!"
"Alright sweetie. Let's calm down a little." My mom explained.
"I'm excited I don't have to share a room with these two little babies anymore." Olivia smirked.
"Hey!" Peter frowned. "I'm not a little baby!" He started to tear up.
"Oh come on Peter it's just a joke." Olivia scoffed.
My mom had a face of disappointment as she whispered to Olivia. I couldn't really hear but i assumed it was mom's usual speech: "Olivia, you've got to understand he's younger than you and he's more sensitive.
"Oh come on mom. He's got to be able to take a joke." Olivia glared.
Honestly I agree with Olivia. It was just a little joke. But I also agree with mom. Ah I don't know. It isn't that big a deal anyways.
"Olivia apologize this instant!" My mother raised her voice.
"Okay, fine!" Olivia shouted. "Sorry Peter." she angrily apologized.
Whenever Mom looked away Peter stuck his tongue out at Olivia.
"HE'S STICKING HIS TONGUE OUT AT ME!" Olivia yelled.
"Oh my gosh Olivia. Stop making excuses to get your brother in trouble. Also, don't shout at me or else I'm taking your phone." My mom demanded.
"BUT MOM I-"
"I SAID DON'T SHOUT AT ME." Mom shouted. "IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO RESPECT ME THAN GIVE ME YOUR PHONE."
Mom then ripped the phone out of Olivia's hands and put it in her purse.
"ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO RESPECT ME YOU CAN GET IT BACK."
Olivia was in tears by now. She was gritting her teeth and her hands were in fists.
"Alright, lets just check out the new house." Mom shouted, sounding annoyed.
Mom and Peter walked up the driveway and to the door as me and Olivia stayed behind. As soon as Mom and Peter entered the house, Olivia began to shout:
"UGHH IT'S NOT FAIR. JUST CAUSE HE CAN'T TAKE A LITTLE JOKE I ALWAYS GET-" Olivia screamed as she kicked a tree and in turn hurting her foot. "OWWWW." She wailed.
"Im just going to leave you alone for now." I awkwardly explained.
"YES. PLEASE DO." She yelled.
I walked up the path that lead to the front door and swung it open.
