When I tell you that I wanted to be doing any case but this one, I mean it. Art should never ever get this violent and no one should die for it like this. But guess what, the Director of the FBI, my personal friend and "mentor," put me on this case and asked me to think about joining the BAU, Behavioral Analysis Unit. Just my damn luck.
Since I just landed, I check my phone for the status of the BAU's arrival. Their arrival time is about 8:30, so in an hour. Trying to decide between getting caffeine here or at the station, I decide to get caffeine here and then go set up an area for the team and myself at the station.
While I stand in line, I pull up the pictures I took of the case files and pictures on my work phone. 'Alright, let's see. Man hanging upside down and looking like he's caught in a mousetrap. Looks like someone was snooping where they shouldn't have been.' My train of thought is completely stopped by the cashier calling for the next person in line. I smile as I approach the cashier with a six-pack of Monsters. Her eyes widen before blinking and avoiding my gaze for the rest of the purchase, disgust and judgment radiating off of her in waves as she shoots me judgmental glares. I "accidentally" flash my FBI badge in her line of sight and she suddenly stiffens, meeting my eyes with a fake smile and "have a nice day ma'am!" as I leave through the baggage claim doors with my carry-on and luggage in hand.
I ignore her as my body goes on autopilot, my brain racking through the info for the case. 'The signature on the graffiti was Morpheus but they never got violent, only protesting through art. The victim was Russell Pearson, a known activist that recently was exposed for a scandal with bribes from developers. That fact shows that this could be street justice, but we don't know if it's a copycat.' My brain continues to rack through the case as well as the files on my new teammates to help me get to know who they are.
Damn Director.

After arriving in my government rental car, I step out with my red leather computer case, files in my bag and a newly opened monster in hand. I open the door to see the police force panicking and rushing out all the exits. A frown slips onto my face as the Captain approaches me.
"How may I help you, ma'am? As you can see we'r-" I cut him off with my badge and a short reply.
"Hello Captain, I'm SSA Amberleigh Emrys. I'm supposed to be joining the BAU on the Morpheus case." His face becomes grave when I mention the case.
"I'm glad you're here agent, your team isn't supposed to be here for another half an hour but I'll relay you the new information that we just got." The Captain leads me to a separate room where a corkboard and a long table are placed.
"New information?" My eyebrows raise with my voice as I ask the question.
"Yeah, an 8-month-old child was just abducted, not even 15 minutes ago. Her name is Corinne Wallace, daughter of Stuart and Katherine Wallace." His balding head furrows with concern for the child as he speaks.
