chapter 7

(Sky's pov)

I walked back to my alley and sighed. I got out a loaf of bread I stole from the bakery and tore off a piece. I can't eat lunch at school because I can't pay for it but I can steal. I sighed and ate the bread and curled up into a ball and started crying. I miss my family... they kicked me out because I was gay. I sniffled and hit myself. No! I will not cry over them again!

I sighed and fell asleep on the cold wet ground.

"What the hell?" I heard someone say and woke up. "Hey! You're the kid who stole my bread!" My eyes widened and I got up and ran past the angry baker. He started running after me and and I panicked. I made a sharp turn and ran straight into the woods. After 10 minutes of me running I finally collapsed and couldn't breathe. I was panting and trying to get some air in my lungs when I started to hear voices.

"Jeff! Your turn to train!" Someone said. I slowly got up and even though my mind said not to, I walked towards the voices. I ducked behind a tree when I saw a tall faceless man I recognized as Slenderman. I put my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming. I have got to get out of here... I was about to run back to the city when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I slowly turned around and saw a white mask with black lips and eyes wearing a yellow jacket. I screamed and fell back. All the others looked at me and I shook my head rapidly, trying not to cry.

"Please don't hurt me! I-I didn't mean to come here!" I begged. That's when Storm ran up to me and he stood in front of me. "Sky? What are you doing here?" He said. I looked at him in shock and said

"The baker! He um he chased me. I didn't want to go back so I ran in here...." I said. They all looked at Storm and me confused and Storm smiled at me.

"I won't let them hurt you." He whispered to me. I smiled a grateful smile and nodded. "Guys, this is Sky." He said. They all waved and Slenderman said

"Is this the human you were talking about?" Storm nodded and put his hand out for me to take. I stood up with his help and stumbled a little, my legs were shaking so badly because of being nervous and scared. Storm took my arm and steadied me.

"So... what were you doing spying on us?" Jeff said. I blushed and said

"I wasn't spying! I heard voices and was seeing if someone could help me... but then I saw him," I pointed at Slenderman. "and I got scared." They all nodded and Storm smiled at me.

"So Sky," Storm said. "Why were you running away from the baker?"

"I stole some bread..." I said and looked at the ground.

"Why did you steal some bread? Why didn't you just go home and eat?" Toby said.

"I don't have a home..." I said sadly. They all awkwardly stood there and Storm coughed.

"You never actually told me what happened as to why don't have a place to stay." Storm said. I bit my lip and sighed. They're probably going to kill me when they find out I'm gay... I mean who wouldn't? I'm an abomination.

"I was kicked out of my house for holding hands with a boy." I said quietly. Storm tilted his head to the side and said

"What's wrong with that?" I looked at him in shock as the others all said the same thing.

"Everything! I mean... isn't it wrong? I should be killed I'm so disgusting!" I said. Storm came over and hugged me.

"Awe, Sky, don't say that! I was killed because I'm gay and it's no fun." Storm said. Everyone's jaws dropped except Ben's. I knew he was Ben because Storm talked about him a lot.

"You're gay?!" Jeff said. Storm blushed and his eyes turned a dark yellow which meant he's embarrassed. Storm nodded and then Jeff said "Yeah, I can see that..."

I laughed at his comment and so did everyone else.

"What does that mean?" Storm said. I smiled and Storm pouted.

"It means, you're somewhat flamboyant." Jeff said. Storm shrugged and said

"Oh okay. So Skylar, I can give you some money to get you some food."

"No thanks, I don't like to take stuff when I can't pay them back." I said.

"Sky, I'm making you take some money. And I'm finding you a place to live. My old house is abandoned so you can live there for now." Storm said.

"Okay... thank you." I said. Storm hugged me and said

"Anytime, now I'm also taking you to get some new clothes." I nodded and the rest of the guys all smiled at him.

"Damn, Storm. For a killer you sure do care a lot about people." Jeff said.

"I know how it feels to be mistreated. I don't want people to go through that unless they deserve it." Storm said. They nodded and Storm took my hand and led me out of the woods. We walked to this old looking house that I guessed was where Storm lived.

"So why were you in the woods? Don't you live in the underworld?" I asked.

"We train in slender woods though." Storm said. I nodded and he walked me into the house. It was kind of dark and dust was everywhere. He smiled at me and said "here you go! The place is all yours! I'll bring you food back in a little bit. Go ahead and explore a little bit. I'll see you later, Sky." He kissed my cheek and ran out of the house. I smiled and blushed. I think I'm starting to like Storm. I sighed and started to explore the house.

*So... it's been like 6 months since I updated. I'm sorry guys, this is a story that I wrote when I was in 6th grade. I'm in 10th now and my writing style is different then what I did back then. I'm going to try and update this story as much as I can and I'll be going back to earlier chapters to fix some grammar issues and misspelled words.
