Marinette

When I was young, I always dreamed of meeting my father. It was strange how much you could miss someone without even meeting them. It want the first time though. When Slade attacked, I was separated from my brother, Damian. I wondered the streets till I was adopted by a couple in Paris. Damian is living with our father while I am distanced, and kept away. I have no contact to him and I hate it.

You see Damian and I are twins, but I'm a year older. It's a long story of seducing Bruce, twice, and getting pregnant around the same time twice. It's really complicated if you think too much of it.

It's been six years since I last saw Damian. And I kissed him like crazy. It's not the same when my birthday comes around. When I was first dropped off in Paris, I decided to use a false birthday. My real birthday being May 19, but I use January 16th instead. I don't trust anyone, and keep to myself. But I placed that facade of being kind and bubbly so I wouldn't be completely alone. Besides, lying is one the first things you learn in the league. Besides killing. Killing was a big one.

But it was January 16th our birthday. I looked at the picture, Damian and I snuck when we were younger, and held it close to my heart.
"Happy birthday, Baby brother. We're one year older." I whispered.
"Marinette! Your teacher is here to see you!!" Mom called out.
"Coming mama!" I called back, hiding the picture under my pillow and rushing downstairs. "Hello Miss. Bustier, what can I help you with?" I asked politely.
"We are having a class trip in a month, and I was wondering if you could do some research on the place we are going too. I want everything you find put into a brochure."

I sighed. "Where are we going?"
"Gotham, New Jersey."

I chocked on my drink. What? Really? I might get to meet my father and see my brother?!
When my coughing subsided, I nodded hurriedly. "I'll do it." I chocked out.

The was the best birthday gift I could ever receive. By the time March rolled around, I was actually happy and bubbly. Since Lila came, I could be my usual cold and distant self. Ladybug was a luck of the draw. And now Damian? Best year ever!

When I got outside the hotel, I stared at it for a moment. Just taking in the air and view.
"Why the hell does father love it here?" I muttered.
"Probably because of his night job." Chloé replied.
Chloé is the only person that knows about my past. The only reason she knows is cause she caught me talking to picture Damian about my day and how much I missed him. My assassin skills failed me once, and I made sure I was on point ever since.
"Not surprising. I wonder if I'll see my brother. I haven't seen him since the attack. I hope he's doing ok." I whispered, looking down the street. "I probably won't see him, he probably won't recognize me if I do see him. Gosh, I'm rambling." I sighed and face palmed. I shook my head and walked into the hotel.

Out first stop was Wayne Enterprises the next day.

And then I saw him.

I started crying, at how grown he looked. The baby fat that was in his cheeks, was gone. The green in his eyes is more pronounced, and his stubborn frown on his face was still plastered there. H grabbed Chloé's hand as I tried to regain control over my emotions.
"Oh my gosh, he's grown. I'm pretty sure he's taller then me now." I whispered. "Oh god." I furiously wiped my eyes, trying not to prevent anymore from falling.
I saw Chloé smile. "I don't know what to say. But he doesn't look happy."
I chuckled sadly. "He's always like then, but he would always smile when he eat my homemade bread.... that's it! Are you coming with me?"
She scoffed, "and be left here with them? No way."
I smiled and grabbed her hand, we slipped out the entrance and hailed a Taxi.
"The closest grocery please."

It took me twenty minutes to gather everything I would need. Before we got another Taxi to Wayne Manor. I was greeted with an English gentleman.
"Hi, my name is Marinette and I Damians twin sister and the daughter of Bruce Wayne. This is my friend Chloé. Don't tell anyone were here." I stated, before I started searching for the kitchen. When I found it I started my work.
It took two hours for it to be completed. During the process, Alfred asked questions and I gave honest answers.
"What's Damians birthday?" I asked out of the blue.
"He tells everyone it's May 19, but it's actually January 16th."
"That copy cat. He took my cover birthday. I guess we are twins in a sense." I chuckled. I set the bread on the counter and smiled. "When Damian gets home, hand him a piece of bread with Chicken Noodle Soup. He look at it strangely for a moment, before eating it. If he smiles, he's remembering and I want you to hand him this." I said pulling out a piece of paper. "If he frowns, throw the paper away and forget you met me." I stated before dragging Chloé out the door. "It was nice to meet you!" I called over my shoulder.

Alfred

I have another grandchild. And she's nice, and can actually cook!
I looked around the kitchen and it was spotless. The dishes had been washed and put away, and the bread sat on the counter tauntingly. I ate a piece and was shocked by the amount of flavor and it contained. But it was good. Really good.

Thirty minutes later, Master Damian walked in side. I called him over and performed the request I was given. And I watched Damian smile. He smiled for the first time and I loved watching it.
"How did you get this recipe? Only one person knows it." He asked.
I smiled and handed him the note. He opened it and I watched as his eyes filled with tears and his smile grow. Holly hell, this girl is amazing.

Damian

Dear Damian,

I'm in Gotham for awhile. I'm not going to tell you who I am, you'll figure it out. But I saw you today for the first time since the attack and you have grown so much. I'm very proud of you, Birdy.

Here's a hint so you can find me:

'The city of Love travels to the city of crime. A girl with loud voices, blocks the girl with small hopes. The cries can be heard, but not seen.
Who am I?'

Good luck Dami. Remember, I can see you, but you can't see me. Hurry up and figure it out. I can't wait forever.
Love your sister,
Marinette.

I was crying and smiling. Something I only did alone or with Marinette. I looked up at Alfred before rushing around the counter to hug him.
"I need all the details you can remember, Alfred. What did she look like? Anything." I stated, pulling back and wiping my tears away.
He smiled down at me, and nodded. He told me everything he could before disappearing in an very Alfred like way.
