He was slipping out of control.
He gazed at the broken pieces of trophies and plaques scattered on the floor. When he circled his gaze around his grand room all he saw was the mess he made. Broken things that he destroyed in his slight lapse in control.
But all of these trophies, prizes and things were insignificant after all.
He is a smart and athletic boy who thrived everywhere he was whatever he does. But he was only second best to his brother.Always waiting in the shadows to be acknowledged. For his hard work to be recognized. To be praised for his talents. To be loved for who he is.
But all effort. All of his hard work was for nothing. He was just the second son nobody needed. He was the second son his parents didn’t want. He will forever be in second only to his golden brother.
Lonely, bullied, neglected. That is what he was. He tried to be the good boy, the best everyone can be proud of. But no one can see past his brother’s so called greatness to even get to know him.
His desire, his anger, his envy, his pain. All these emotions he hid in a well-crafted mask of a smile is all slipping through. He knew he has anger issues. He knew that only his control and dedication were the only things that keeps his inner demons at bay.
But these demons, emotions, tendencies, they demanded to be set free. They demanded the world to know who he was. What he is and what he is capable of.
Maybe, he isn’t really fit to live in the light and play nice. Maybe he is more accepted in the darkness and be known for who he was.
He was done being good. He was through being obedient. He was tired of chasing shadows and pleasing everyone.
Everything has its limits and ends and this was it for him. He passed the point of caring what his so called loved ones said.
It was his life.
And its time to do what he wants with it. He would cease to care what others think and follow what they wanted.
“Mr. Choi.” The fifteen year old boy called his butler. The only person in this mansion he could trust. The only man who ever cared for him. The only man who ever stayed with him.
“Yes, young master?”
“Throw all this trash away.”
“I understand.”
“Call Uncle Lee. We will meet him.”
“Are you sure, young master?”
“Yes. I have matters I want to discuss with him.”
“I understand.” And the butler although a little anxious about the master’s uncle reputation, trusts his Master’s judgement. He was always an intellectual young man.
The silver headed boy sat down on his grand chair, legs crossed and hands supporting his chin.
His parents were the power couple who owns huge conglomerates across Seoul and Busan. Both were successful in business. They were the golden children of their parents perfect in everything, the ideal elites.
However, in every family there is always the black sheep. Yonghoon Lee, is his mother’s youngest brother and he was considered a disappointment to the whole clan.
Not because he was not an achiever, but because he was into life of violence.
No one understands his uncle. Why he was the way he was. Why he chose the brotherhood over his family. Why he created a mafia rather than joining the family empire. But he did.
The teen understand why his uncle chose to live the way he did. It was because of their so called family and what they made him what he became.
He knew why, as his uncle recognized the same in him. They only met twice. When his grandfather died and left some of his property to the silver haired boy, his uncle visited briefly.
The little one was curious and they talked. He saw understanding in the elder’s eyes when he patted his little head and told him that he knows and that if he needs anything he can come to him.
The second one was when he was in grave danger and the only family who came to his aid and protection was the only one everybody feared.
From there he understood clearly. That the two of them, they did not belong here. That they will never ever belong in this mold.
When butler Choi hand him over his private phone, he knew that his life will never be the same.
