“Help! Help me!” Cried Sarah. “Help!” But it was no use; it was just her and the mysterious man in the house. “Be quiet, or else,” the man whispered. “Leave me alone. Let me go!” she yelled. Sarah was trying to fight her way through the dark man’s grip, but he was too strong. She pulled, and she pushed, for what seemed like forever, until he finally loosened his grip. It wasn’t by accident, they both heard footsteps coming. “Everybody, freeze.” It was the police. The man darted out the back door, and Sarah had no clue what to do, look for the police and tell them where the man went, or just stay put, like they said to. She saw a light, probably from a flashlight, and peered around the corner of the wall. The light caught her face, but she wasn’t scared. It was the police for heaven’s sake. They weren’t going to arrest her. The neighbors probably heard her, since the windows were open upstairs. “Who are you, do you live here, what is your name?” asked the chief. “Um… I’m Sarah Mathews, I live here, my parents went out for dinner, and I’m fourteen years old.” Said Sarah, nervously. She had to say, the chief policeman was a little intimidating. “Why were you crying for help, your neighbors heard you and called us?” ‘I knew it!’ “Someone was in the house, they trashed the place.” Sarah was right. There was pillow fluff and wood all across the floor.  “He was wearing a mask, and I’ve never heard that voice before. He ran out the back door, but I think he dropped something on his way out. I heard a thud on the wooden floor.” “Well, what are you waiting for, lets see what he dropped.” Said the chief, “and by the way, I’m Chief Officer James Black.” Sarah was right, he had dropped his wallet. Officer Black decided to take it to the headquarters, and he brought Sarah too. He let her call her parents, and they were so relieved that she was all right, and they left the party immediately and they came to the police station to see her. She had a few bumps and bruises on her arms, but it wasn’t anything hospital worthy. Everything was running smoothly, until they heard a gunshot.
