"Good morning mom!"Caspian and Reeney said in unison the moment they saw their mother at the balcony above them. The twins were at the pool, happily swimming with big smiles on their faces.
"Mom! Let's swim!" Reeney called and Irene although statued on her post managed to wave her hand and smiled in response.
"Let's swim, love?" Lisa said from behind.
Irene faced her with a poker face, lost for words but still managed to be composed.
"What is happening? are you seriously using the kids so that you could get me back? You know that it's unfair Lisa. Don't do this."
Lisa felt a pang on her chest, she knows Irene was telling her the truth, she shouldn't be doing that but this was not her idea alone. The kids wanted this. They wanted to be the bridge for their parents to make things up.
"It's not what you think, love. If you could just give me a chance I'll definitely show you. I never intended the worst things to happen." She sincerely said.
Irene although hesitant she nodded. She loves Lisa she knows it, she just wants Lisa to realize that she can lose Irene too. That she can't play with her feelings, she can be tired too.
"Let's talk later. I'll see the twins." Irene said and hurriedly went to be with her chidlren.
Irene spent most time of her day with the twins, laughing and singing and dancing and just playing around. It felt like heaven for her. She never had times like this with the twins in her whole life and now she's happy.
Very happy.
The twins are finally opening up to her like they never felt awkward anymore what more mad. Irene never felt left out with them, even after 2 hours of being together when Lisa joined them, they were still happily playing together.
"Mom, tatay told me you like the moon." Reeney said obviously wanting her parents to interact.
"Hmmm yes baby. I do." She smiled at her daughter.
"Why?" Reeney pushed her more while Lisa was preventing herself from smiling.
She knows her old pal Joey used to talk about Irene to the kids when they were younger so the kids know some things about her."Just cause. I like the moon. No reason."
Although disappointed, Lisa was just listening while trying not to smile.
"Really mom?" This time it's Caspian who asked.
Irene felt cornered but she doesn't want to make stories about how she loves the moon and the ocean and how it is because Lisa used to date her to the ocean sides every full moon when they were still teenagers and madly in love. She doesn't feel like she could story tell.
Not with Lisa being present at least.
"Yes baby. No reason." Irene replied and just with that, her children were smiling like they were teasing her.
"Hmm. If there is really no reason, why does grandpa joejoe said that you love the moon so much because tatay used to bring you to the beach during full moons and both of you have moon pendants? Was grandpa lying?"
Irene faced palm herself. She knows how smart and cheeky these kids are and she also knows she shouldn't lie. But she does not want to sound lovestruck when Lisa was around.
