CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

3:40 am

Today is the day.

Nationals and finally meeting Sakusa Kiyoomi.

You exited the car and waved goodbye to Ayek.

The sky was still dark and the school building was empty. No chattering and wandering students to be found.

You see Yumi and Shedai in the distance, walking together.

"Yo!" You walk up to them, greeting them both with a hug.

"Hey, (F/n)! You ready?" Yumi asked, rubbing both of her hands together to warm them up.

It was quite chilly outside.

"Yeah!" You beamed them with a smile.

"I'm still sleepy. I didn't get enough sleep because of science." Shedai said in a raspy tone as she rubbed her eyes together.

"You can sleep on the bus."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking."

You three headed to the track fields, where the other athletes were waiting for the buses to arrive.

"Ah, good. Shedai, Yumi, and (F/n) are here!" Your leader chirped as she wrote down your names in her small notebook.

You glanced over to the male's volleyball club where you could see Atsumu and Osamu with the others.

You grinned as you saw Atsumu with bandaids on his face and Osamu's fists tapped

"I guess Osamu won." You silently chuckled.

A few minutes later, the buses have arrived.

"Alright, get in!"

Your team then went on the bus.
Sitting in their seats.

As always, you sat near Yumi and Shedai.

The bus then started to move, heading to Tokyo.

"I'm surprised that we three can all fit here." Yumi giggled.

"That's because you're small, Yumi-chan." You joked.

Yumi huffed and lightly punch your shoulders. "Mean."

Shedai instantly went into slumber, leaning on the window beside her.

"When did she sleep?" You whispered.

"Around midnight, I guess."

"Well, damn. I hope she won't feel tired during our game later."

-8:25 am

You guys finally arrived at the destination.

Tokyo.

The lobby section was filled with a lot of people, athletes from other schools right there and there. It honestly made you feel excited and thrilled.

"We're here!" You and Yumi exclaimed happily.

Shedai just recently woke up, stretching her arms upward.

"Morning, sleepyhead." You grinned at Shedai.

"Yo." She simply said as she blinks several times to fully wake up.

"Our game isn't starting yet. Right?"

"Uhuh."

"Good, I need to go to the bathroom! (F/n)-san, please come with me." Yumi faced you, as she let out her puppy eyes at you.
