A planets wrath
Virgo woke up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes and trying to ignore the ache in the side of her neck from her odd sleeping arrangement. She let out a yawn and winced as the morning light hit her eyes. Using a sweep of her hand she moved the round, gas filled planet over the sun, blocking the stream of light to her face. Smiling to herself, Virgo tore off her white blanket and stood to her feet, facing her window that met a view of the sunset morning sky.
"Good morning my darlings," Virgos high pitched voice rang out, still managing to have an edge of authority in her tone. She gazed out her window once more, a group of 8 planets, moons, and a sun completed the small galaxy where she had made her home. Once satisfied that her darling planets had not suddenly moved out of her sight, she ran her long, dainty fingers through her matted blonde hair.
"Lady Virgo," a small human came forth and bowed, "your breakfast is prepared." Virgo turned to acknowledge him with a curt nod, ushering him out of her glass chamber so she could prepare herself. she quickly changed into her usual pure white gown thats bottom hovered over the floor.
Walking down the steps to her dining room, she was greeted by the same servant, his gray hair revealing his older age.
"Any plans today, my lady?" he said, setting a plate full of fruit on virgos place at the table. Virgo sat down before her food in thought, what would someone who could command the planets do for everyday pleasure.
"I believe I would like to visit your home world, earth. Would you like to accompany me today?" Virgo added the last part as an afterthought, thinking that having someone along to explain earth and it's customs to her might be helpful.
The elderly man gasped, "why yes mam, I have not been in years." His eyes let out a single tear as joy overtook his features. "Thank you so much Lady Virgo" he cried out.
"Yes of course, may I inquire of your name sir?" She did not mean it to belittle the man, or pass judgement on his lower status, after all he was a paid servant, there were just to many servants to remember all by name. Virgo gave a first impression of being cold, mean, and prideful, but she came from humble beginnings and taught herself how to control her powers, earning her the title of Lady of Planets.
"My name is Mathew," he replied with a smile.
"Alright, Mathew we will visit your home world as soon as I finish my breakfast." Virgo turned to finish her breakfast, hiding her eagerness under a blank expression.
(After Breakfast)
Virgo stood ready at the edge of her dome shaped house, enjoying the fresh breeze that wafted through the open windows. Virgo would have been content to stand there all day in her thoughts, but the small patter of running feet brought her back from her day dreams.
"I'm sorry Lady Virgo, I did not mean to be late." Mathew stuttered out as he stood out of breath. Virgo smiled back at him, releasing the thoughts of punishment from the mans mind.
"No matter, you are here now, lets be on our way."
with a wave of her hand she pulled the planet into the milky way galaxy. She placed her planet next to the moon of earth, laughing at the surprised expression of Mathew.
"That was amazing," he whispered to himself. Virgo giggled, she did want to admit her feelings to herself but she was starting to like the presence of this human very much.
With one more Wave of her hand, she used the gravity of earth to propel the forms of her and Mathew to earth, wrapped in a bubble of air to protect them from the harsh environment of space. As the neared earth's surface, they started to see the outline of trees and people. Trying to avoid a well populated area, Virgo slowed down over the middle of a forest and slowly brought herself closer to the ground until their feet touched.
"So what did you think?" Virgo asked, pointing out the lush trees around them.
"In all my years of living I have never felt more alive, your powers are truly incredible My Lady."
Virgo laughed again, something she normally would never do, but this old man made her quite comfortable. "While we are here on earth, I am simply Virgo." the old man nodded in understanding as the couple began their hike to the nearest civilization.
The walk took about 20 minutes, the forest providing shade from the afternoon sun that hovered above them. Virgo was tempted to move some planets around and make some shade, but she actually enjoyed the warmth the sun brought.
When they left the woods, they stood on the outskirts of a small town. Virgo and Mathew stuck out in their traditional white clothes and hair, it looked like they had walked out of a Shakespeare novel.
As they began to walk through the streets, Virgo turned to Mathew.
"Why do they give us such weird stares, our skins are the same?"
"We are not dressed like them, the women are mostly wearing jeans and you are in a white gown." Virgo nodded, still confused but now ignoring their odd looks.
"Mommy," a young child pulled on his mothers sleeve, "why is that girl dressed like a princess, is she the planet person?"
"No Eddie, the planet princess is just a story, why would you think that?" and with a few gentle tugs the mother pulled her son away, sending glares over her shoulder.
Virgo was now more confused than ever, how can they think I'm not real when I am right in front of them? She thought, stress clouding her judgement. She was about to lash out with her powers before Mathew placed a hand on her arm.
"I'm sure not all of them think that Virgo, we can ask around and see what people think of you?" Virgo nodded running her hands through her hair while gazing at the passerbys.
"But how can anyone think that I'm a...a make believe?!?" she stuttered out in anger. "Thats like saying God isn't real!"
Mathew only nodded in understanding and led her to a clothing shop to buy new garments, little did he know he had no idea what he got himself into!!
