A soft ringing sound echoed threw the dark red halls of the manor, the walls looked as though they were melting from the heavy brick structure. The windows began to cloud with a deep grey fog, the moon outside had disappeared behind it. As he stood in the middle of the soaring columns and the wine red fabrics, Achilles could hear the sound of nearing footsteps, those made by dress shoes, as his eyes shifted to the direction they had been coming from. His heart slammed nervously against his chest as the sound became louder and louder. A dark figure soon appeared among the suffocating fog, slowly drawing nearer and nearer. His feet had sunken into the floor, leaving him unable to move as he started to panic. His lungs would struggle for air, his eyes stinging from the mysterious mist that surrounded him. The things around him began to spin rapidly as he felt a strong hand grip tightly around his neck, stripping the life from him bit by bit. His hands were immobile, simply swinging by his side as his eyes rolled back. The room around him started to burn a bright red, as the fire crawled closer to him, engulfing him and the man in flames. The loud screams of pain rung out in his mind.
Achilles awoke, shooting upright as he panted heavily, his heart beating wildly in his chest. He lifted his blanket to wipe the tears from his eyes, in desperate fear of what he had just witnessed. He removed the blanket from his face, scanning the room around him. The same boring walls of his village home stare back at him as he breaths a sigh of relief. He leaned tiredly against the headboard of his bed, running a hand through his dark hair as he yawned. His butter yellow eyes began to flicker once more, a wave of exhaustion pulling him back into the sinister maze of indescribably horrifying dreams. His breathing calmed as the darkness around him pulled him further and further in, any feeling of the real world slowly subsiding.
