Midas' POV

A part of me is thinking this wasn't a safe idea. That girl could've caught us if we weren't careful. And here I am, my base overrun by Shadow, and I'm going so far as to recruiting a child to help me stop Chaos Agent's plans.

But if we can at least get Skye back, and possibly see if Rook is still alive, that's good enough for a guy like me.

"Psst, hey M. Down there." Sophie taps my shoulder, pointing over to a door with a scan lock mechanism with a henchmen standing next to it.

"Heh, good job kid." I compliment her in a soft spoken tone. Despite her face being behind a mask, I can sense she probably has a proud smile on her face.

No-one's POV

As both approach the door, the henchmen next to it steps in the way, stoping them.

"Woah there, what you think you're doing?" He asks, his pistol at the ready.

"Jules told us 2 henchmen that we had to... take the prisoner to the Chaos Agent for debriefing." Midas replies, glancing over his shoulder just in case.

"Hm, is that so? Because if that were true, I would've been notified about it."

The other henchmen eyes them suspiciously. Midas is about to propose a counter offer, but that's when his accomplis responds with...

"Hey, c'mon fellow henchmen. Jules' orders are final. Let us through!" She folds her arms, impatient.

"Oi, watch your manners." He yells. The enraged henchmen shoves past Midas, knocking him onto his knee, cornering Sophie who, despite trying to hide it, begins to shiver in fear.

"Let me teach you a lesson about rebellious henchmen like you."

Sophie's pained scream not only alerts the other henchmen within the radius, but Midas as he gets back up. He looks in horror as she clutches her wounded shoulder, tears forming in her eyes. This, of course, angers him.

"He shot her. He SHOT A CHILD!" His thoughts shout out to him.

Before he can shoot Sophie dead, Midas elbows him away and grabs her by the wrist, using his free fist to break down the door, unintentionally turning it to gold in the process.

"Come on kid, let's find Skye and get the hell outta here."

Sophie's POV

Ok, I knew M was a strong guy, but I never knew he was THAT strong! He broke the whole door down. That was so cool!-

"Ow, my arm! It hurts!" I flinch as Midas pulls me along.

"Sorry Sophie, I'll deal with it in a moment." He responds, his voice sounding a bit more colder than earlier.

Closing the door and locking it behind me, I see Midas fall on his knees.

"M! A-Are you okay?!" I use my other hand to remove his mask, and I'm shocked to find half his face completely gold.

"Hm? Oh, I'm quite alright...thank you for your concern though." He comforts me, the gold draining away from his face as he regains his posture.

Holding out my arm, Midas begins to wrap up my wound with a bandaid, but not before taking the bullet out first.

"So, what happened to you just then?" I ask, curious.

"Oh, it's just a thing that happens sometimes. It only really happens if my temper gets outta hand. Mainly because of my..."condition"."

Condition? Curse? Jeez, I wish he'd just tell me, or someone about it...

"Oh, okay then M." He looks down with a small smile.

"...Midas."

"Huh?"

"You can call me Midas."
