Summary: How do Jin Ling and the other juniors react after Sizhui tells them his origin? How will the other sects react when the news slips out to them?
"Huh? You and Gh-, Wen Ning are related?" Jin Ling says in shock. Jin Ling, Jingyi, Zizhen, and Sizhui were going on yet another night-hunt together. It had become a norm for them to meet up every few days to go night-hunting together. Wen Ning had joined them this time.
"Yes...well, I don't remember much from when I was little, but I realized it after I saw ChenQing in Senior Wei's hands," Sizhui says sheepishly.
"So that's why you approached Sizhui that day..? The day we all went to Lotus Pier," Jingyi pipes up. Wen Ning nods.
"H-how can you be so sure?" Jin Ling demands. It was hard for Jin Ling to believe that Sizhui had been born in a sect that had the reputation of being evil and devastating many of the sects years before he was born. His Uncle Jiang and Wei WuXian had told him tales about them though.
"He looks just like my cousin when he was a teenager," Wen Ning tells him. "And A-Yuan remembers some things from when we lived in the Burial Mounds."
"The Burial Mounds? You lived in such a dingy place when you were little?" Jingyi gasps.
"Well...I remember Senior Wei planting me into the soil...and Hanguang-jun buying me a toy and paying for Senior Wei after he ran out of a diner."
"Hmph! What a strange way to treat a young child!" Jin Ling huffs. "Is that how he played with you?"
"Hey, come on Jin Ling! Senior Wei was poor and couldn't even buy a toy for him when he was little. You think he lived the luxurious life as you in Carp Tower?" Jingyi crosses his arms.
"You two, stop. Is this really something to argue about?" Zizhen sighs. He turns to Sizhui.
"I'm glad you were able to find out your true identity. But not all of your family members are dead...you have...Master Wen." He looks over at Wen Ning.
"I have Senior Wei and Hanguang-jun as well." Sizhui smiles. "You guys...," He looks away nervously. "You guys don't think differently of me, do you?" The Wens back then had had a reputation of being evil, being responsible for destroying the Jiang Sect back then and causing devastation to the cultivation world.
"Of course not!" Jingyi says. "You were an innocent child back then. Why would we blame you? And...," he looks hastily at Wen Ning. "Clearly, not all the Wens back then were evil," He mutters.
"Right," Zizhen nods.
"You'll always be our friend. You grew up with me, so I'm not thinking any differently about it." Jingyi reassures him.
"Jin Ling, you haven't spoken yet." Zizhen looks over at the boy with golden robes.
"I..I have no reason to think differently of you," Jin Ling says hastily, his eyes darting from Sizhui to the ground. "Anyways," Jin Ling clears his throat. "We should get going." They nod and head on their way.
"How many people know about the truth, Sizhui?" Jingyi asks him.
"Well...for now...it's only you guys actually. Master Lan has forbidden me from telling anyone else besides you three."
"He really let you tell other people in general?" Zizhen is surprised.
"Hanguang-jun and Senior Wei convinced him." Sizhui tells him."
"Is Jin Ling okay? He seems a bit shocked about the news. He's been real quiet too." Jingyi sneaks a glance back at Jin Ling.
"He is...don't tell me he doesn't trust you anymore?" Jingyi frowns.
