Recap:
When I returned her phone and she saw what I had done and laughed. We then took the photo, I had gotten a really nice one of Claire holding my hand over the table, she was laughing at something I had said and my rainbow bracelet was on display on my wrist. It was actually a pretty nice photo and I couldn't wait to take more. Maybe my crush on Claire was growing, just a tad.
Grace POV:
I ran my fingers through her golden locks that lead spread out across my lap as she stares up at me, a soft smile on her pink lips. A soft smile made its way onto my own lips as I kept starring at her beautiful face. Nothing seemed to be out of place, as her own hand was resting against my jaw reaching out and around the back of my neck as my free hand rested on her waist rubbing soothing circles. Her other hand that rested lightly on her stomach would sometimes catch mine and would interlock our fingers together whilst talking about nothing and everything all at the same time.
The sun was warm against our skin, making Claire glow in her tight black sleeveless collar crop top and washed out blue denim shorts topped off with white converse. A few friendship bracelets littered her wrists and a sunflower necklace hung down her chest. She rested peacefully against my legs, I had one leg tucked under the other one that was stretched out. My long black shorts with random white doodles on nearly matching her black top whilst also being a stark contrast to my white nike top. A few bracelets also littered my wrists, along with a few rings on my fingers and thumb.
The multiple clicking sounds of the camera brought me out of my ravine as Claire then stood up to take a look at the photos. We had been doing this for the past hour, adjusting the camera in certain ways to get the best photos. In this time I had gotten to know Claire better and it felt like as if we had grown closer, even as friends, she wasn't as stuck up or stiff as she was when we first started taking the photos.
We had organised this little meet up a few days ago after taking our first photo. The little park we were currently in was only a five minute walk from the school as Claire had cheer practice soon. I had offered to take the pictures on the football field but she had been adamant about taking them somewhere else, making up a lame excuse about the pitch being "unaesthetically pleasing". In my opinion I just think that she didn't want any of her friends seeing us and getting the wrong idea.
The thought hurt but I knew that it was true and that it also confirmed my suspicions that Claire was in fact straight. Why is it that the truth always hurts?
"Well I've got to get going, cheer practice starts soon." Claire's melodic voice snapped me out of my daydreaming. I just nodded my head at her as she gave me a gracious smile which I returned as I stood up as well packing up the rest of the camera equipment that Claire had started to put away. "Make sure you edit those photos and send them to me later, okay?" Claire called out, slightly turning around to look at me as she walked off. I gave her another nod and a small smile before shouting, "I'll see you later, love." To which she gave me another smile and waved.
Swinging my bag and camera bag over my shoulder, I started making my way home whilst looking at the photos we had taken. My heart beat sped up as I looked them over, we looked like an actual couple, if only.
Entering the house, I was bombarded by George immediately as I gave him some love I put my bag down by the door, taking my shoes off in the process and made my way to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen I greeted Mrs. Willow and Grandma who asked me a thousand and one questions when I told them that I was with Claire, big mistake on my part and then showed them the photos we had taken. They exclaimed at how cute we looked and that I should print these out and frame them. I agreed before turning around and calling out that I was going to take George for a walk, "Okay honey but don't be out too long as dinner is nearly ready!" Mrs. Willow shouted out to me as I existed the building with George hot on my heals.
